If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber looking for something to do this weekend, there are seven new games being made available to subscribers this weekend — but only for an extremely limited time.
From now until December 21, there are five games you can download and play for free. You can also get your hands on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (Zombies and MP Only) until December 22, and Fallout 76 until December 23. Loads to be getting stuck into, in other words.
Xbox Is Ending The Year With Some Game Pass Bangers
All part of Free Play Days
This is, of course, part of Xbox’s weekly Free Play Days promotion, which highlights a bunch of games you can play for free for a limited time. This is one of the biggest weekends by far, with a huge list of games. I’m not even sure where you’d start.
Free games from Thursday December 18 until Sunday, December 21:
- NBA 2K26 – Sporty fun for sporty people, I’m sure. I know nothing about NBA, I can’t even pretend, I’m sorry.
- WWE 2K25 – The latest wrestling sim, and one of the best-reviewed in a while.
- PGA Tour 2K25 – It’s golf. I’m not sure what else you want me to say about this one.
- Ark: Survival Ascended – Survival RPG with dinosaurs. I’d be amazed if you haven’t played this one already to be honest.
- The Forgotten City – A genuinely brilliant game that started life as a Skyrim mod. Also, probably the only game here you could realistically play and finish this weekend.
To start playing, all you need to do is find the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and navigate down to the Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, where you’ll find all the latest freebies waiting for you.
But That’s Not All
There’s always more at Christmas
If that’s not doing it for you, the Fallout 76 free trial available until the 23rd is actually free for all Xbox owners, no Game Pass required. You can discover a new desert biome called Burning Springs, located in post-nuclear Ohio, where an intelligent Super Mutant called The Rust King rules over Deathclaws and raiders
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s free trial also doesn’t require Xbox Game Pass. During this trial period, you can play select BO7 Multiplayer modes and maps, Nuketown 2025. You can also get properly stuck into the Zombies mode and blast some undead away. Very Christmassy.
