A woman arrested on Sunday afternoon (March 8) after shots were fired towards Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion, while the singer was home, is in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder, Los Angeles Times reports. Ivanna Ortiz, of Orlando, was booked on Monday with bail set at $10.2 million, The Times reports. It is unclear whether she had any connection to Rihanna, but her Facebook page includes posts referencing the singer: “Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at,” reads one. Nobody was hurt in the shooting.
At least 10 shots were fired from a white Tesla across the road from Rihanna’s home, hitting her front gate and a nearby RV, according to reports from police and neighbors cited by The Times. The vehicle left the scene, but police say officers in a helicopter tracked it down and followed it to a shopping center parking lot. They arrested the suspect some 30 minutes after the 911 call came in, according to radio communication reviewed by The Times. Police say she was armed with an AR-15-style weapon.
