Woltemade set for Newcastle medical – Record fee agreed & could sanction Isak to Liverpool

Newcastle United have FINALLY made a breakthrough in the striker market.

We shared Craig Hope’s story earlier this evening that Nick Woltemade could be closing in on a shock move to St James’ Park, and it’s now emerged that the big German is indeed on his way!

Both Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports’ Keith Downie have confirmed that Newcastle have struck a deal with Stuttgart to sign the 6ft 6″ striker, thought to be between £65-£75m, depending on who you believe!

The 23-year-old striker is set to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours, with travel arrangements now being made to formalise a move; which could now unlock Alexander Isak’s exit, should Liverpool return with an improved second offer.

In a post on X, Romano states: “Nick Woltemade to Newcastle, here we go! Agreement in place after official bid accepted.

“Fee over €80m plus add-ons, medical in England in the next 24 hours with travel being arranged right now. Long term deal agreed with Woltemade who says yes to #NUFC.”

Bayern Munich have made multiple bids for Woltemade this summer, but appear to be signing Nicolas Jackson, allowing Newcastle to step in and hijack a deal.

Sky’s Keith Downie claims it’s a £65m deal, while The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards suggests we shall pay closer to £75m for the forward, who was one of the star men at the U21 Euros.
