Will Osula now set to move to the Bundesliga from Newcastle United in shock £30m deal – Reports

Will Osula now set to move to the Bundesliga from Newcastle United in shock £30m deal – Reports

Will Osula is now set for a £30m move from Newcastle United to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Earlier today, The Mail reported (see below) that Aston Villa were considering a deadline day move for the United forward.

Now on deadline day afternoon, Craig Hope of The Mail says that Aston Villa did also agree a transfer fee with Newcastle, only for the UEFA spending rules to make that move too difficult.

Eintracht Frankfurt though now set to succeed where Villa failed, with The Mail reporting that Will Osula is on the verge of a £30m move to the Bundesliga.

They also report that the imminent deal is understood to include a buy-back option for United.

Sky Sports are also announcing the Will Osula move to Frankfurt as imminent but they report it as a £28.5m deal between Newcastle and the German club.

The Mag report earlier today – Monday 1 September 2025:

‘Aston Villa are considering a deadline day move for Will Osula.

The Mail say that their information is that Unai Emery is now interested in signing the 22 year old Danish forward.

Aston Villa have had to confront serious financial/PSR issues and have lost a number of forward options who were at the club last season, including Rashford, Asensio and Bailey.

With these PSR restrictions, Villa saying Will Osula now seen as a budget-friendly option.

Osula was a £10m buy from Sheffield United in summer 2023, with a possible £5m more in future add-ons, if certain targets were met.

How much substance in this Aston Villa transfer story, remains to be seen.

Will Osula did well and scored a goal when coming off the bench against Liverpool a week ago.

However, he struggled on Saturday to make an impression when starting against Leeds on Saturday.

With deals agreed for Nick Woltemade and now Yoane Wissa, United now have their two main strikers to take on this 2025/26 season.

Will Osula is still a raw inexperienced young player with some talent, BUT for me, he has been far more impressive in the games where he has featured on the right wing, rather than as a centre-forward.’
