CHELSEA defender Caleb Wiley has completed a return to Championship club Watford on a season-long loan after he impressed last season and wanted to make the move back to the club
The 20-year-old defender joined Chelsea last summer from MLS side Atlanta United for a fee of $11.4M (£8.5M), and spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Strasbourg in France, before suffering a shoulder injury. He then joined the Hornets on loan during the second half of the season, where he impressed across 10 appearances for the Championship side.
‘Good luck, Caleb!’
“We are delighted to have secured Caleb on loan once more,” said Watford Sporting Director Gian Luca Nani. “He was impressive in the games he played for us last season and his attitude is incredible.
“To have him for a full season means we have the talent and consistency Paulo wants defensively.”
IcFootballnews Says…
This is a great decision from Wiley to make, he got some very good game time at Watford last season and should be able to get some much needed minutes next season.
However – all these loans are not good and at some point he will have to look for a permanent move away from CHELSEA in order to really make a career for himself at a high level, he cant be shifted around every season.
But for now, this is the right decision to make.
GARNACHO FEE SET
Manchester United have significantly lowered their £70 million asking price for CHELSEA to sign Alejandro Garnacho this summer, according to reports as a £40 million fee will now get a transfer deal done for the Blues.
Garnacho has been in the headlines all transfer window after getting dropped for the Europa League final against Tottenham, and he has contantly been linked with a whole host of clubs after the past few weeks.

Earlier in the transfer window it was reported that the Red Devils wanted £70 million for Garnacho, but According to ESPN, United are now willing to accept a £40m fee for Garnacho this summer with Chelsea, Aston Villa and the Saudi Pro League all interested.
The report adds that Garnacho’s preference is to remain in the Premier League and join a club who will be playing in the Champions League next season, which makes Chelsea the frontrunners for his signature if they followed up their interest.

Garnacho is a talented player that could be a world class player, but at the end of the day, he is not really a player that CHELSEA needs at this time, it would be a waste of £70M
Letting Maduake leave the club may be a mistake as the lad has alot of pptential, but splashing that money and bringing in Garnacho, who does not score alot of goals and does not assist many either, would be a waste of money.
Chelsea have done some great transfer business this summer and the squad is looking impressive, but at the end of the day, Garnacho would being in alot more trouble than he is actually worth.
And he is not worth £40 million
WILEY HAPPY WITH MOVE
Defender Caleb Wiley thanked Watford’s fans after he returned to Vicarage Road on a season-long loan from CHELSEA this week, and he is now very excited and looking to getting come game time.
His displays led to numerous calls from supporters for the 20-year-old’s return and the defender said this did not go unnoticed: “The fans have been amazing since the day that I got here,” the United States international said to watfordfc.com.
“I’m very appreciative of them and the things that they do for me, and how they cheer for me.
“It helps me in my career and the way I perform.
“I’m very excited to be back here. I got a taste of what it’s like here, and what this club is about and the potential that it has going forward.
“I said ‘why not run it back?’ I’m excited to see what the season holds.”
“One of my big goals is staying healthy because it’s a long season,” he said. “I’ll do what I can do to make sure I’m able to perform at my best.
“The World Cup is definitely a dream of mine. I’m going to do everything to get there, and obviously it starts here with what I’m doing at Watford.
“There are individual goals that I have set myself, but here, collectively, the goal is promotion. That should be in our heads.”
