The official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has arrived, offering a look at the star-studded cast and the legendary Homer characters they’re portraying.
One of the more mysterious figures appears in the opening seconds of The Odyssey‘s trailer – a towering soldier in distinctive dark armor standing before Matt Damon’s Odysseus. This military giant is Agamemnon, commander of the Achaean army, who leads the Greeks to victory against the Trojans. Unfortunately, the famous actor’s recognizable face is obscured by a rather bulky helmet.
The Odyssey’s Agamemnon Is Played By Benny Safdie
Under the elaborate headgear is none other than Benny Safdie. Best known as a filmmaker alongside his brother Josh, Benny Safdie is behind modern classics such as Uncut Gems and Good Time, but he flew solo in 2025 with The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne Johnson as MMA fighter Mark Kerr.
In front of the camera, Benny Safdie will be best known for Licorice Pizza, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Happy Gilmore 2, and Christopher Nolan’s own Oppenheimer.
