Josh Safdie and A24’s searing sports drama Marty Supreme opened on Christmas Day, earning roughly $9.5 million on the holiday alone. Timothée Chalamet has earned rave reviews for a career-best performance as Marty Mauser, a highly ambitious huckster who uses his wits and wiles to climb the ranks of the international table tennis circuit in the 1950s. Although A24 has yet to announce a streaming or VOD date, the film may be headed your way sooner rather than later.
Beyond Chalamet’s magnetic turn, Marty Supreme continues to draw immense praise as one of the finest features of 2025. While the film is bound to play in theaters for the next few weeks or longer if its commercial success continues, prestigious A24 titles tend to stream at home through HBO Max, which is likely the destination for Marty Supreme in the months to come. The real question is precisely when.
When Will Marty Supreme Be Available To Stream?
A24 has an exclusive rights deal with HBO Max for new titles to stream on its platform first, before any other streamer. That means Marty Supreme will make its streaming premiere on the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming platform. Based on the recent streaming release of A24’s prestige pictures, Marty Supreme will become streamable three-and-a-half to four months after its theatrical release.
Using the same A24 examples above, Eddington arrived on HBO Max on November 14, 2025, roughly four months after it released in theaters on July 18. Similarly, The Smashing Machine opened theatrically on October 3rd and is slated to join HBO Max on January 23, 2026, roughly three and a half months later.
If the pattern holds as expected, then Marty Supreme is on pace to stream on HBO Max sometime between April 17 and April 24, 2026. That would put the film squarely in the three-to-four-month range that A24 has continually released its titles on streaming.
Once Marty Supreme is added to HBO Max, it may join another streaming service once the exclusive rights Pay 1 window shuts. Apple TV+ has listed Marty Supreme as “Coming Soon,” which may indicate it will grab the title once it runs its course on HBO Max.
When Will Marty Supreme Be Available via VOD?
Released widely on December 25, 2025, the only way to currently watch Marty Supreme is in theaters. Although A24 has yet to announce when the acclaimed sports drama based on real-life table tennis champion Marty Reisman will be available via Premium Video on Demand (PVOD), the production company usually adds new titles to VOD 3.5 to 4 weeks after a movie bows theatrically.
For instance, as Forbes notes, A24 and Ari Aster’s controversial pandemic western, Eddington, was released in theaters on July 18, 2025, before its PVOD date was set three and a half weeks later on August 12. Similarly, Benny Safdie’s sports drama, The Smashing Machine, was released theatrically by A24 on October 3, 2025, and became available on PVOD roughly one month later, on November 4.
Most recently, A24’s uplifting romantic comedy Eternity was released in theaters on November 26, 2025, and made available on PVOD one month later on December 23, 2025. If A24’s release pattern stays true, that means Marty Supreme is likely to be available for PVOD sometime between January 20 and January 27, 2026, roughly one month after its theatrical bow on Christmas Day.
