The competitive portion of the Mauricio Pochettino era got off to a rough start on Thursday night with a 1-0 loss to Panama in the Nations League semifinal match, knocking the USMNT out of contention for a trophy and sending them to the third place match against the loser of the Canada v Mexico. The US had 67% of possession and outshot Panama 12-3 but the one shot the US put in the net was called back due to (an obvious) offsides and the one shot Panama put on target ended up in the back of the net with a minute left in the match.
The attack was without end product and the defense tripped up at the most inopportune of times. Following a loss ratings are typically quite rough and tonight likely won’t be an exception after such a disappointing performance but we have to select a SSFC Man of the Match, so who do you have? Because instead of giving you our player ratings, we want to know what you think. Below is a ratings form for you to fill out with ratings for each USMNT player’s performance. After a day/night of voting, we’ll tabulate the ratings and reveal them with the top rated player being named Stars and Stripes FC’s Man of the Match. Feel free to head down to the comment section and leave your thoughts on the match as a whole or give your detailed explanation of your ratings.
