Finding great loot isn’t too difficult in ARC Raiders, but there are plenty of great places to scavenge that you might be overlooking. Embark Studios’ wildly popular extraction shooter tries very hard to be accommodating to more casual players, and part of this is clearly labeling where loot is concentrated and what kinds of items can be found in each labeled location. Play enough rounds and interact with other players enough, and you’ll start to recognize the loot spots that get the most foot traffic.
For the most part, these are the medium and high loot areas delineated on your map by yellow and red borders, respectively. Most of the overlooked loot spots below – two for each map currently in ARC Raiders – avoid these areas, since they’re clearly labeled for you already, but a few of them can still qualify as underrated. Whether you’re kitted and prepared for a fight, or ratting with a free loadout, add these to your mental list of places to look during any given raid.
Ruby Residence
Dam Battlegrounds
Ruby Residence is on the northwest side of Dam Battlegrounds, just up the hill from the swamp and the Hydroponic Dome Complex. You’ll come here for a quest called “The Major’s Footlocker,” but it’s otherwise pretty inconspicuous. It’s a group of red apartment buildings, and is classified as a low-tier loot area, but it has a lot of potential. Residential buildings seem to have a very wide loot pool in ARC Raiders – you can find all sorts of different items, including a lot of trinkets that fetch a good price back in Speranza.
I recommend going to Ruby Residence during Dam Battlegrounds Night Raids. The location seems to have a decent blueprint spawn rate, and since it’s so close to the edge of the map, it’s not often you’ll run into other Raiders there. A bonus is that there is a Raider Hatch nearby at Ben Welder’s Sunroof, and an elevator not too far away in the swamp.
Formicai Outpost
Dam Battlegrounds
On the opposite side of Dam Battlegrounds from Ruby Residence is the Formicai Outpost. There aren’t a ton of containers to search here, but it has a pretty good chance of spawning a weapon crate, in my experience. Formicai Outpost also shines through sheer convenience; there are quite a few spawns on the south side of Dam Battlegrounds, and if you go in with a free loadout, you may be able to snag a second weapon quickly.
Another major factor in Formicai Outpost being worth a look is that I’ve never run into another Raider there, and ARC generally doesn’t patrol that far out. If you’re hoping to score some quick loot and extract without any trouble, other players rarely congregate in that general area, and you won’t have to give away your position fighting robots.
Marano Station
Buried City
You’ll likely become well acquainted with Marano Station doing the “Market Correction” quest, but ransacking it can be worth your time if you spawn on that side of Buried City. Marano Station is near the northwestern corner of the map, and has a few cars you can crack open for parts, but they’re not the real reason to visit. At the northern end of the station proper, there’s a door you have to breach to open. There’s often a weapon crate inside, next to a handful of other containers.
You’ll get a quick injection of XP for scavenging, plus some good loot if RNG is on your side. Marano Station is also relatively secluded in the Buried City, which has gained a reputation for its close quarters that help facilitate PvP. There’s a Raider Hatch nearby too, so you can slip out unnoticed if you spawn on that side of the map and fill up your inventory quickly.
Piazza Roma
Buried City
Not too far from Marano Station is Piazza Roma, a collection of buildings just west of the map’s central Marano Park. Rather than one room to look for, Piazza Roma spreads the loot around; it’s easy to spend a whole round combing the location for all its good loot. Piazza Roma’s northern and eastern buildings are a great source of electrical items – just crack open the solar panels on the roofs.
On Piazza Roma’s west side, there are two tall, square buildings connected to each other by scrap metal bridges. Look out for ARC enemies like Pops and Fireballs in there, but they both have multiple floors and rooftops to search. On the other side of Piazza Roma is Marano Park, where you can find coveted lemons and apricots for upgrading Scrappy. Just be sure to keep an eye out for the Bastion or Bombardier that spawns there.
Control Tower A6
Spaceport
I know what you might be thinking: Control Tower A6 is a high loot location. But we’re not going there for the locked room. The tower itself is the western half of Control Tower A6, but its eastern half is essentially an old office building, and often gets overlooked in favor of the other loot-dense locations on Spaceport like Launch Towers or Departure Building.
If you’re looking for some PvP, this is a great place to overlook large portions of Spaceport. I have a lot of fun sniping people from up here to lure them into traps at the top of the stairs and zipline.
The great thing about Control Tower A6 is it has a lot of desks, which have tons of drawers to open. This is beneficial for two reasons. First, you’ll get a lot of XP for scavenging the whole place. Second, desks tend to have an odd array of items inside, from blueprints to weapon mods and trinkets. I’ve also found a curiously high number of toasters just sitting on desks in Control Tower A6, which you’ll need for one of the Refiner upgrades.
Field Depot Near Service Buildings
Spaceport
This is the only location on this list that isn’t explicitly named. On the southeast edge of Spaceport is a location called Service Buildings. Northwest of the Service Buildings is a Field Depot. The Field Depot itself won’t typically have great loot – sometimes you’ll find a couple of containers to search – but this one has an inordinate number of Field Crate spawns around it.
Three field crates spawn to the east and south (toward the Service Buildings) and two more are fairly close to the west, near the wall that surrounds Container Storage. Field Crates are a great way to stock up on ammo and consumables. If you’ve had a run of bad raids and spawn relatively close to this Field Depot, you can replenish some precious supplies. The only issue is there aren’t any elevators or Raider Hatches in that corner of Spaceport.
Ancient Fort
Blue Gate
Ancient Fort is a medium loot area, but it’s so far out of the way that Raiders rarely congregate there. ARC patrols are also few and far between, since it’s in the very southern corner of Blue Gate. The normal loot pool at Ancient Fort is fine, but it’s often overlooked for having arguably the easiest room puzzle in ARC Raiders.
Surrounding the Ancient Fort are numerous smaller brick ruins, inside which you can find Fuel Cells, usually on top of small pallets. Bring the three Fuel Cells back to the fort and slot them into the fuze boxes on the walls (follow the wires if you’re having trouble locating them). Once all three are in place, a cellar door on the Ancient Fort’s east side will open up.
Raider Refuge
Blue Gate
Raider Refuge is another medium loot area on Blue Gate, but most of the map’s action tends to center on the central and underground locations. Raider Refuge is on the map’s west side, in the middle of the forest, and appears to be a collapsing church.
There’s actually not a ton of readily available containers to loot at the Raider Refuge, but it has two possible weapon crate spawns: one on the roof by the zipline anchor, and the other in the puzzle room. You need to press four buttons in the church itself and in the surrounding area – four will be active out of more than a dozen possible button spawns. The biggest danger here is the patrolling Rocketeer.
Seed Vault
Stella Montis
The Seed Vault is another high-tier loot area, but it’s been dismissed since Stella Montis was released for offering very little other than Assorted Seeds. The thing is, though, there are a lot of Assorted Seeds in there. A full stack of 100 Assorted Seeds can be sold for 10,000 Coins. Scrappy already gives you plenty to barter with Celeste, so any you pick up will just be surplus and can easily be sold off for easy profit.
The Seed Vault door always begins locked. All you have to do is find a single Fuel Cell and bring it to the right side of the door, then hit the open button on the door’s left side. I’ve never had much trouble finding the Fuel Cell; sometimes it’s in the hallway right outside, or otherwise not too much further away. The Seed Vault is also an easy place to complete the “In My Image” quest.
Loading Bay
Stella Montis
The Loading Bay can be a tough sell because it’s always guarded by a large ARC, usually a Bastion or Bombardier. It may take some thorough searching, but plenty of good stuff can be found around. Weapon crates and grenade tubes can be found hiding among the cargo containers, and the cargo containers themselves often have a side busted open and drawers to loot. It’s pretty easy to stay out of ARC’s sight, and other Raiders usually don’t mess around in here for fear of the robots.
If you need Bastion cells for a workbench upgrade, Stella Montis’ Loading Bay is also arguably the easiest place to get them. The verticality makes it easy to have the advantage, and there’s a ton of cover to stay out of the Bastion’s line of sight. Stella Montis can be tricky to navigate because it’s a veritable maze filled with trigger-happy Raiders, but the Loading Bay is easily one of the most overlooked loot spots in ARC Raiders.
