Whether Marleyan, Eldian, or otherwise, the soldiers in Attack on Titan are some of the strongest and most resilient individuals in any anime series, facing monumental threats on a daily basis and risking their own lives to guard both their comrades and innocent humans from danger. Each of these heroes has their own distinctive fighting style and moral code, but they are all united under a common goal: protecting the world from man-eating Titans.
Some soldiers, like Armin, rely on carefully concocted plans of attack and manipulation, while others, like Levi Ackerman, focus more heavily on brute force and stunning swordsmanship. Without each of these Attack on Titan soldiers, there is no telling how long the Titans would have terrorized the world, and for that, these characters deserve recognition.

Not only does Pieck possess a lightning fast Titan, her analytical skills are top-notch, allowing her to dream up effective plans for Marley’s success on missions. From protecting Gabi to killing one of the Nine Titans, the War Hammer Titan, Pieck’s accomplishments are many, proving her status as one of Attack on Titan’s top soldiers.
Reiner Braun
Reiner’s Emotional Complexity, Resilience, and Indestructible Armored Titan Make Him Truly Mighty
Reiner Braun is one of Attack on Titan’s most emotionally complex and best written characters, betraying his Survey Corps comrades by secretly working for his home country, Marley, to steal Eren’s Titan shifting powers. His Titan, the Armored Titan, is one of the most impenetrable because of its ability to block oncoming attacks with hardened skin, making him indestructible.
Reiner is a valuable asset to whatever side of the battle he is fighting on, not just because of his indestructibly solid Titan, but because he is willing to push himself to the point of near death to win. Despite the mental health challenges and family trauma Reiner has struggled with, he worked hard to become a Titan-killing machine, risking his own safety for everyone else’s sake, especially younger children like Gabi and Falco.
Jean Kirstein
Jean Became Dedicated To Killing as Many Titans as He Could, Shedding His Past Lazy Attitude
Jean Kirstein is not only one of Attack on Titan’s best soldiers, he is one of the most inspiring because of how dramatically he changed. When he first enlisted to fight Titans, he planned on choosing to join the Military Police, so he would not have to face actual combat and could indulge his laziness to his heart’s content.

His Titan kill count is at least 89, which is a tremendous number for just one person to take down by themselves, highlighting his expert swordsmanship and quick thinking on the battlefield.
Never afraid to take charge, Levi effectively led others and kept his soldiers safe to the best of his ability, all while charging head on into the war himself too. Although he lost an eye, multiple fingers, and sustained leg injuries that left him in a wheelchair by the end of Attack on Titan, these wounds only go to show how invested he was in the fight to save humanity, and without his sacrifices, the Titans would have likely succeeded in wiping out everyone.
