Tim Krul has been talking about Eddie Howe and Newcastle United.
The former NUFC star recently announced his retirement from playing and is making an excellent start to his career as a pundit. A lot different to much of the nonsense we have become accustomed to hearing from so many others.
Tim Krul showing great insight, especially when it comes to what the case is at St James’ Park.
What the reality is with Eddie Howe and Newcastle United, Krul cutting through the nonsense.
The former United keeper really delivering what the truth is of the situation.
Sky Sports presenter:
“In terms of Eddie Howe, Jamie Carragher was speaking about him a lot after the Brentford game. Do you think he has done as much as he can, can he take them further, where do you stand on that debate?”
Tim Krul:
“He is one of the best managers the club has ever seen.
“He has single-handedly transformed the expectations of the city, the club is on the up, I think it is amazing.
“Lots of changes behind the scenes and if you see his interviews, how he deals with all the stress, he is the steady of it all.
“He is the leader.
“Is there a bit of pressure? That just shows how far the club has come, because people are now expecting Newcastle to be top half in the Premier League, fighting for Champions League spots.
“Has he taken them as far as he could? I think there are still steps to go and Eddie Howe is more hungry than ever to prove people wrong.
“I think that starts Saturday [against Man City].”
Sky Sports presenter:
“What about Yoane Wissa, do you think he will be a bit of a spark this season?”
Tim Krul:
“When you are paying £50m for a player to…I don’t they expected Woltemade to have to play that much early on. I think Wissa is one of those players who has been proven in the Premier League, who is probably as close to Isak as you are going to get, running in behind.
“So for him to get fit, to give that kind of plan B, that different way of playing, that we all know of Newcastle.
“Players like Elanga haven’t really shown the form they have shown over the last years.
“So, there is an exciting squad at the moment, I have still got high hopes that they will turn it around.”
