The 2024-25 NHL regular season is winding down and there will be 12 teams in action on Monday, including the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. The Panthers will host the New York Rangers in their penultimate game of the regular season and the Rangers have already been eliminated from postseason contention, while Florida is still hoping to move into the top four. The home team is a -169 favorite on the money line in the latest NHL odds via the SportsLine Consensus, but there are also plenty of NHL player props you can bet on sportsbooks like DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM.
The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NHL game 10,000 times and it enters Monday on a 30-14 run on its NHL picks that has returned nearly $1,300 for $100 bettors. One of the Data Scientists behind the model, Stephen Oh (@StephenOhCBS), analyzed the sim results and broke down the supporting evidence to reveal which player props have the best value for today’s slate. The NHL odds could change, so act now for maximum value.
Connor Bedard Under 2.5 shots on goal (-130)
The 19-year-old won the Calder Trophy as the NHL Rookie of the Year last season and has produced his second consecutive 60-point season despite playing on a Blackhawks squad that has recorded the second-fewest points in the NHL. However, he’s actually been slightly less aggressive in the offensive zone this season. He took 206 shots on goal in 68 games as a rookie but has only registered 191 in 80 games this season.
When facing a team with a losing record on the road, Bedard has gone under on his shots on goal market six of the last eight games. On Monday, the model is projecting 1.9 shots on goal on average for Bedard and DraftKings has the best price on the Under.
Chris Kreider Over 1.5 shots on goal (+110)
It’s been a strange season for the 33-year-old, as the former 50-goal scorer has managed only 26 points in 66 games coming off a 75-point season in 2023-24. However, Kreider has scored 21 goals and he’s still put up 150 shots on goal this season (2.27 per game). Even with his ice time dwindling late in the season, the model is predicting that Kreider averages 2.3 shots on goal against the Panthers and is taking the plus-money value with the over. Once again, DraftKings is offering the best price for this NHL player prop.
Connor McDavid Under 1.5 points (-125)
McDavid is on a bit of a heater, as he enters Monday on a 16-game point streak and has scored multiple points in eight of his last 12 contests. So what gives with the juiced Under? That’s primarily a result of a Kings defense that ranks second in the NHL in goals against per game (2.41) this season. In two games against the Kings this season, McDavid only registered one point on both occasions and Los Angeles has only given up more than two goals once over its last seven games.
The model rates McDavid Over 2.5 shots on goal (-125 at BetMGM) as a five-star play, but also ranks Under 1.5 points as a five-star play against LA’s stellar defense. It predicts he averages just 0.5 points and is playing the best price for this market at FanDuel.
