The ‘Hell House LLC’ Movies Are Streaming Free Before the ‘Origins’ Sequel

If you find yourself looking for a couple of picks to indulge in a scary movie marathon, look no further. Three of the most terrifying horror movies produced in the last 10 years are now available to stream for free. These are the first three chapters of the found-footage horror franchise Hell House LLC: the original 2015 film, 2018’s Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel, and 2019’s Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire.

The first three movies in the franchise, created by Stephen Cognetti, are now streaming on YouTube ahead of the fifth installment, Hell House LLC: Lineage. The latest installment is the only film in the series not to be made in the found footage format, and it will be released in theaters on August 20, 2025. Like all the previous entries, it is written and directed by Cognetti.

The first three chapters of Hell House LLC were exclusively released on streaming by Shudder. The franchise didn’t secure a theatrical run until the fourth movie. For some fans of the genre, it was their introduction to what many consider the scariest horror franchise in recent years. Fair warning: if you’re afraid of clowns, you might want to skip these.

The first movie, Hell House LLC, laid the groundwork for the franchise as a terrifying mockumentary-style film. It followed a group of friends with a dream to put together a haunted house attraction for Halloween. That’s how they came upon the remains of what used to be the Abaddon Hotel in New York. As they plan the haunt, disturbing ghostly events begin taking place. On the night of the opening, 15 people tragically died. All of this, of course, is caught on video.

The second film sees a group of journalists investigating the location where the so-called documentary Hell House was filmed (the events in the first movie). Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel follows up on the lore of the location, with a few innocent victims trying to debunk a rumor that is a real supernatural threat. It was sadly not well-received by fans.

Found footage horror is a very effective technique. But the following films went beyond the intention of shock and felt too real for our comfort.

Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire follows an entrepreneur trying to put together an immersive theater experience at the ill-fated hotel. Once again, strange occurrences begin to happen to those participating in the high-concept experience. Again, the film was not as well-received by many, though it’s an undeniable improvement over the sequel. The film delivers horror with minimal exposition. The first film holds a 70% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the second movie remains without a critics’ rating, and the third sits at 14%. The fourth chapter is the highest-rated film in the franchise, with an 88% score.

The first three Hell House LLC movies are available to stream for free on YouTube, more specifically on the Shocks & Docs channel. Also available on the channel is the Director’s Cut of the 2015 original, which contains roughly 40 more minutes of footage and is undoubtedly the best version of the movie.

The only film in the franchise that’s not available to stream for free is the fourth chapter. Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor is currently available to stream on Shudder (or AMC+). If you don’t want to subscribe to the horror-based streamer, you can always watch the movie during a free trial. However, it’s safe to say that if you’re a die-hard horror fan, Shudder is the best platform you can subscribe to.
