I can hardly believe we’ve reached the final month of the year. We’re in full holiday mode—at home and at work—trying to make the season feel as special as possible for the girls. I love Christmas, and I especially love recreating the kind of whimsical moments I remember from my own childhood.
Most of what I’m eyeing and buying this month are gifts. Gifting is one of my love languages, and I take such joy in tracking down special pieces that feel truly suited to each person on my list. There’s nothing I love more than watching the season unfold through those small, thoughtful gestures, many of which I’m sharing throughout this month’s Forecast.
What We’re Doing
-
We’re kicking off December with a trip to NYC with the girls. On the itinerary: The Nutcracker, a visit to the American Girl store, ice skating, and as many festive city moments as we can pack in.
-
My third collection with Jennifer Behr launches tomorrow at 10am. It’s our first holiday collection, filled with rich jewel tones, tassels, satin, and a mix of stones. This necklace and this one are two of my stand-out favorites!
-
With snow in the forecast, I ordered a few last-minute waterproof pieces for the girls (last year we learned the hard way). I got them these coats, these gloves, and these boots.
-
I’m joining a friend’s table at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in NYC this week. I’m torn between this pink dress and this red dress and may make a game-time decision (the red one is on sale).
-
Our tree is up and fully decorated, along with more of our favorite holiday pieces. We have a faux tree from Balsam Hill, layered with ornaments that were passed down or collected over the years. I wrote this Substack post sharing some of my favorite places to shop for holiday decorations.
-
Christmas will be cozy at home with my family, and I’m looking forward to slower days with the girls. I’ve already bought a handful of crafts to do together, including these gem gingerbread houses, these ornament-making kits, and this life-size gingerbread house that the girls played in all winter break last year.
-
We’re also starting to map out our travels for 2026, which feels both far away and right around the corner.
