Quarterback will be the focal point of Tennessee’s transfer pursuits in the media, but wide receiver might be the bigger need to the Volunteers. Bru McCoy and Dont’e Thornton are out of eligibility and likely suiting up in the NFL next season while Squirrel White made the shocking decision to enter the portal in the winter. He’s one of five scholarship wide receivers that entered the portal during the last cycle.
The Volunteers only added four players in the transfer portal this winter and one was former Alabama wide receiver Amari Jefferson. He was a four-star recruit out of the Baylor School in Chattanooga in the Class of 2024 and decided he’d return to his home state for his sophomore season after getting buried on the depth chart in Tuscaloosa.
