With Superman soaring past expectations this summer, the rebooted DC Universe is now in full swing. DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran have successfully jumpstarted a new franchise, but one of the most iconic superheroes of all time remains a question mark. Batman has yet to be cast, and while fans have been throwing around names left and right, an unexpected one has emerged as a potential candidate for the coveted role.
During Fan EXPO Canada (via Screen Rant), Superman & Lois star Tyler Hoechlin expressed his interest in portraying Batman in the DCU. While praising Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the hero, Hoechlin made it clear that if there was an opportunity to embody a new Dark Knight, he would jump at it. The former Superman actor also sees a chance to re-do the Batman versus Superman conflict.
“Well, selfishly, I’m going to say no because I still want to play Batman. I think and I say that Rob did a fantastic, fantastic job and [with] Matt Reeves it was great. So I’m happy to let them keep doing their thing, and maybe leave the door open for maybe an additional whole new envisioning of Batman versus Superman.”
More to come.
