Steven Gerrard played with a number of legendary players throughout his iconic Liverpool career.
After coming through the academy at his boyhood club, Gerrard would go on make over 700 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, and became the Liverpool captain in 2003.
He won a number of accolades with Liverpool, including two FA Cups, three League Cups, and most notably the historic 2005 Champions League against AC Milan in Istanbul, where his goal just after half-time helped his side recover from a 3-0 deficit.
After nearly two decades with Liverpool, there are a number of names that Gerrard could pick from when deciding who the best ever footballer he played with was, but when asked by TNT Sports, there was only one man that came to mind immediately.
“Luis Suarez.”
Suarez joined Liverpool in January 2011 for just over 22 million pounds, proving to be an incredible bit of business for what the Uruguayan would go on to do on the pitch.
After 11 goals in his first full season, Suarez really came into his own, following it up with 23 league goals in the 2012-13 campaign, before a remarkable 31 goals in 33 league games in 2013-14.
His performances earned him a number of individual awards, including the Premier League Player of the Season, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and the Liverpool Player of the Season.
Suarez finished his Liverpool career with 82 goals in 133 games, and will forever be known as one of the greatest players to ever pull on a Reds shirt.
