Stephen Lang Cooks up ‘Hellfire’ in New Action Thriller Clip [Exclusive]

Avatar star and scene-stealer Stephen Lang has finally found the aged action hero role that he was born to play. Ever since debuting as the tough-talking Colonel Miles Quaritch way back in 2009, action fans have wondered whether the 73-year-old actor would ever go the Liam Neeson route and demonstrate his particular set of skills in something simpler than James Cameron’s sprawling sci-fi epic. Well, our wish has been granted, with Lang cooking up a storm of stab wounds and frying pans to the face in our exclusive clip from Hellfire.

Stephen Lang is unleashed like never before in Hellfire, with the action thriller now all set for release on digital and VOD on February 17, 2026, in the United States via Saban Films and Sony Pictures. Boasting Lang in the lead, Hellfire also promises to be the perfect no-nonsense action thriller you’ve been looking for as it follows a mysterious drifter who decides to use his penchant for violence to protect a small town from ruthless criminals.

Directed by Isaac Florentine and written by Richard Lowry, Hellfire stars 80s action icon and The Expendables star Dolph Lundgren and Oscar-nominee and Pulp Fiction star Harvey Keitel alongside Lang, with the rest of the cast comprised of Scottie Thompson, Johnny Yong Bosch, Chris Mullinax, and Michael Sirow. You can check out both our exclusive clip “Where Did He Go” from Hellfire and the official synopsis below…

A mysterious ex-Green Beret drifter (Stephen Lang) enters a small, southern border town and discovers a community forced to participate in narcotics distribution for a ruthless crime syndicate (Harvey Keitel). The drifter is about to change that.

Stephen Lang Fights for the Title of “Best Aged Action Hero” in ‘Hellfire’

Stephen Lang, who recently received high praise once again for his return as the villainous Colonel Miles Quaritch in James Cameron’s action sci-fi epic sequel Avatar: Fire and Ash, leaves the lush lands of Pandora behind to instead show off some creative uses of various kitchen utensils. Lang’s ex-Green Beret uses knives, a frying pan, and even a grater to dispatch the villains who have made the mistake of bringing another war to this soldier’s door.

The fight scene makes the smart choice of not shying away from the actor’s advanced years, with Lang often finding himself on the backfoot, but through sheer grit and force of will, he emerges from this cook-off intact and with a couple of dead adversaries at his feet. A fight scene in a kitchen is something of a staple of action movies (no doubt because of all the sharp objects and hard surfaces), as is the hero facing off with an opponent three times their size, and it’s great to watch Lang go full Neeson amid these genre favorites.

Not only does Hellfire boast the talented Stephen Lang in the lead, but it also has the action-packed experience of director Isaac Florentine in its corner. The filmmaker is best-known for collaborating with underrated action hero Scott Adkins on the martial arts action movie Ninja and its renowned sequel Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, as well as the Adkins-led Undisputed III: Redemption, and the upcoming One Last Fight. All of which indicates that Hellfire will deliver elevated B-movie action thrills with Stephen Lang’s commanding screen presence no doubt helping him in the fight for the title of “Best Aged Action Hero.”
