Solo Leveling’s Crunchyroll Successor Is Dominating the Anime Fandom

Solo Leveling’s Crunchyroll Successor Is Dominating the Anime Fandom

Solo Leveling has quickly become one of the most popular anime series of all time, and while fans are waiting for a third season, a new Crunchyroll isekai series might be exactly what they’re looking for. Isekai is already a popular genre, and when it mixes in Solo Leveling’s best elements, it only becomes better.

Solo Leveling incorporated video game elements masterfully. Sung Jinwoo, the protagonist of the hit shōnen spectacle, is the only character in his universe with the ability to level up. His strength is represented by stat points, just like a video game.

My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s is more than an obnoxious title: it’s a solid isekai series looking to integrate video game elements smoothly as well. It’s a great series that uses a lot of the same elements as Solo Leveling, giving this series plenty of potential.

There Are Almost Too Many Reasons to Love Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling took the shōnen genre to new heights with both its first and second season. Sung Jinwoo’s usage of video game-like tropes made the series even better and more relatable to the scores of anime lovers who also game.

The franchise also has a couple more components that make it stand out from the rest of the genre, including a dark, brooding protagonist who would rather do things on his own, unbelievably great fights, and some of the most intriguing powers in the medium.

Crunchyroll has a ton of great series taking the art form of anime to the next level, and Solo Leveling might be the streaming service’s crown jewel. It’s a series that only gets better the longer it runs, and with the massive popularity that the first two seasons garnered, another season is sure to come out any time.

My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s is the perfect anime series to watch for anyone who can’t wait for Solo Leveling’s third season. It’s another series featuring a main character who would rather do things solo, choosing to operate from the shadows while his friends take center stage.

Akira, the main character in My Status as an Assassin, is a soft-spoken, hard-hitting protagonist who lets his abilities do the talking. He’s a lot like Sung Jinwoo without feeling like a clone, and his abilities as an assassin make him stand out from the S-Rank Hunter as well.

My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s has already featured great fights, an intriguing world, and a few more story elements that make it a gripping series. It might not break a ton of records like Solo Leveling, but it doesn’t have to. It’s a solid series worth watching no matter what it ends up doing.
