Simons – Claypole – Sarr feature in Chelsea news now

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest that we think you guys may have missed today from icfootballnews…

Xavi Simons has removed RB Leipzig from his bio on Instagram as the 22-year-old hopes to complete a move to CHELSEA in the coming days and end all the speculation about his immediate future.

The club have been spending some serious money this transfer window, they have added some quality players to the squad and Enzo Maresca is keen to make sure that we end up with some more silverware.

But the transfer window is now over yet, and there has been alot of talk in the media that Xavi Simons is a player that Chelsea really wants to sign, and Simons is no longer keen to stay in the Bundesliga, he wants to make that step up in the game and play for one of the big clubs, with many reports in the media claiming that a move to Stamford Bridge is one that he would like to make.

Now, reported by the Chelsea Chronicle, Simons has removed his current employers Leipzig from their previous place in his Instagram bio, continuing to spark rumours that he is closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge.

IcFootballnews Says…

If he is ready for the fight at CHELSEA, he would be a great signing, but Enzo Maresca is loyal to his players and the Dutchman will have to work very hard to make an impact.

He is a brilliantly gifted little player, and to be honest, So even though he may not be 100 per cent needed, he is a player we would like to see sign.

However – many fans will question why a player that is playing every week will want to come to a club that does not need any more midfielders, especially when there are other clubs chasing.

Money looks like it is the reason that Simons wants the move to Chelsea.

SARR MAKES MOVE

CHELSEA defender Mamadou Sarr has joined RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan, the Blues have come out on the club website and confirmed as they continue to do some summer business with the French side.

The Blues and the Ligue 1 club, who are both owned by the same owners, are continuing their business between each other this summer, as the likes of Mathis Amougou and Ishé Samuels-Smith are the two players who are moving to Strasbourg for good whilst Sarr joins Kendry Paez, and Mike Penders on loan for the season.

The French U20 star will be delighted to return to his old club for the season as they compete for a European spot in Ligue 1, as he is keen to keep on getting some much needed game time.

The Blues posted: ‘The centre-back joined the Blues from the Ligue 1 side in June and was included in our squad for the Club World Cup.

Sarr, a France Under-20 international, made his CHELSEA debut in our victory over ES Tunis and featured in every matchday squad en route to the Blues being crowned world champions.

We look forward to monitoring and supporting Mamadou’s development throughout his loan.

Good luck, Mamadou!’

This is the right decision to make at this stage of his career, Sarr is not ready to play for the first team this coming season, so this loan move will give him the chance to play a bit more and get his confidence back, it is a move that needed to happen.

It was probably the wrong decision in the first place to make that move to CHELSEA at this stage of his career, he is not ready and that is why he is going back to France so soon after making the move to Stamford Bridge

CLAYPOLE LEAVES CHELSEA

CHELSEA can this weekend confirm forward Aimee Claypole has completed a permanent move to Nottingham Forest, and the attacker is very happy with her move to the club this summer window.

The Blues posted: ‘ Claypole came through our Academy system and signed professional terms in November 2023 when she turned 18.

She had previously made her senior debut for the Blues in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the Women’s FA Cup in January 2022, and her WSL debut came a year later in March 2023.

The forward has spent loan spells at Lewes and Swedish side Linkoping, before making another loan move to Durham for the final part of the 2024/25 campaign. There, she scored five goals and earned a nomination for Women’s Championship Player of the Season.

On the international stage, Claypole represented Finland Under-15s before playing for England at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.

Everyone at CHELSEA would like to wish Aimee the very best for the future as she begins a new chapter in her career.’

On signing for Forest, Claypole said: “I’m really excited, the Club has unbelievable ambition and I’m looking forward to being part of the project that we’re building here. I can’t wait to get started.”

Nottingham Forest Women head coach, Carly Davies said: “We are so pleased Aimee has joined us. Securing her signing is another statement of intent for the impact we’re looking to have in the WSL2.

“Aimee is an exciting player, someone who has an eye for goal and we are confident she will add something different to the team. She has fantastic experience for a player of her age, and we’re looking forward to welcoming her to our group and seeing the impact she has on the team.”
