Silent Hill f may have come and gone, but it’s being treated to a bit of a surprising yet welcome DLC roughly six months later via a Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake crossover collaboration. It has been confirmed that the DLC includes “free collaboration costumes,” though it is uncertain whether they are for both Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake and Silent Hill f, the latest Silent Hill game, or just the Fatal Frame 2 remake.
Indeed, while details are sparse right now, Fatal Frame’s Koei Tecmo announced across social media platforms such as Twitter/X that this collaboration is a thing. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake already boasts a variety of accessories and costumes as pre-order bonuses, early purchase bonuses, and digital deluxe bonuses. Consequently, it seems fairly obvious which costumes it might be receiving from Silent Hill f.
Silent Hill f Is Getting Free Crossover DLC
If it’s to be believed that Silent Hill f is getting in on this crossover collaboration and truly making it a ‘collaboration,’ it’d be fantastic to see Silent Hill f’s Shimizu Hinako receive a costume/accessory DLC inspired by Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake’s Mayu or Mio. As for what costumes Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake will receive, the two most likely options are Hinako’s Pink Rabbit Costume and her iconic, default Navy Sailor School Uniform.
It’s also unclear when these costumes will become available for either game. Because fans are to “stay tuned for more details,” however, we might not need to wait much longer to find out, as Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake releases in less than two months and has a demo arriving even sooner than that.
Fatal Frame 2 Is Getting A Demo, Too
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake is receiving a demo on March 5, a week before Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake’s official release date. Moreover, save data from the demo will be carried over into the full game, which means that players who decide to check it out as early as March 5 will technically have an early sneak peek at the game and make some progress in it before launch.
It’ll be great if the Silent Hill f and Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake crossover collaboration doesn’t take much longer than March 12 to drop, as Silent Hill f fans don’t have a demo or new game to look forward to in a couple of months. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake seems to be getting a lot more out of this collaboration, but it’s terrific to see Silent Hill’s Japan-based game receiving some love as well.
