Roma is preparing to welcome Claudio Echeverri.
The 2006-born attacking midfielder, currently under contract with Manchester City, is at the center of negotiations now at an advanced stage that could bring him to the capital on a loan with an option to buy.
The player’s desire to wear the Giallorossi jersey is clear, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
His entourage have expressed appreciation for the destination, also thanks to the presence of two other Argentines in the squad, Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé, who would be key players in Echeverri’s integration.
Manchester City, for their part, do not intend to completely lose control of the young talent, which is why the preferred option would be a loan with an option to buy, but with the option to buy back or future clauses.
The deal is reminiscent of the one that brought Ferguson from Brighton to Roma.
The 19-year-old is considered a viable alternative to Paixao, who has now moved to Marseille, and Antonio Nusa, who has ended up at Leipzig.
At this time, all that’s needed is the green light from Pep Guardiola, who has so far given the boy very little space in City’s squad, effectively leaving him on the fringes of the first team during the last six months.
