Avengers: Doomsday will see Victor von Doom finally come to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the MCU timeline has dealt with numerous threats over the years, Doctor Doom will be the franchise’s biggest threat yet.
With Avengers: Doomsday arriving this year, @iToonOfficial shared new artwork of what it would look like if Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom killed the whole MCU franchise. Check it out below:
However, the MCU artwork doesn’t just feature heroes from Earth-616 getting slaughtered, but also characters across the multiverse. Characters like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, as well as the returning X-Men heroes, are seen dead thanks to Victor.
While none of the Spider-Man actors are confirmed to be in Avengers: Doomsday, several X-Men stars from the Fox-Marvel era will be back, including Cyclops, Magneto, and Professor X. Marketing is currently underway for the film, as Marvel Studios has been screening new teasers in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
While there are still many mystery players left to be revealed for the Avengers: Doomsday cast, additional photography will be happening this spring before they start shooting Avengers: Secret Wars in the summer. Joe and Anthony Russo will be back to helm the Multiverse Saga finale, with the sixth Avengers film slated for December 2027.
The idea that some characters will die in the Avengers: Doomsday story has been strongly hinted at, especially with a major player like Doctor Doom being the central antagonist. With the multiverse concept intact, it wouldn’t be shocking if Victor had killed all heroes in different worlds.
For some of the long-time MCU actors, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will likely be the final time they play some of these roles. According to Kevin Feige in July 2025, the Phase 6 finale is leading to a reset of the MCU rather than a reboot.
Kevin Feige: Reboot is a scary word. Reboot can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline — we’re thinking along those lines.
Avengers: Doomsday will open on December 18.
