Barcelona are in red-hot form, and have lost just one game since the mishap at Stamford Bridge in the UEFA Champions League, and even that was only after having three goals and a penalty disallowed.
The team’s performances, while not as ruthless as last season’s, have been far more stable and indicate a favourable direction for the overall project.
Hansi Flick, needless to say, serves as the focal point and mastermind behind the new project and deserves all the flowers for turning the team’s situation around.
A special environment
At this point, the close bond that Flick shares with the players is common knowledge and it is widely accepted that the environment in the dressing room is nothing short of a big family. The result of the same is visible in the field.
In a recent update, The Touchline reveal that Barcelona’s players are extremely keen on ensuring that Flick renews his contract with the club and stays as their manager for longer.
The players are determined to convince the coach to sign a contract renewal way beyond 2027 and possibly ensure that he stays with the core for the foreseeable future. After all, there is a healthy environment behind the scenes and the results back the coach.
Barcelona’s dressing room believes that Flick is the best manager they could have at the helm and do not wish to lose him at the end of his contract next summer. Needless to say, what they will look to do is give their best on the field and keep the coach happy.
As reported earlier today, however, Flick’s future may not be entirely in their hands for the coach is said to be considering leaving the club if Joan Laporta does not return to power in the upcoming elections. Several factors, thus, are involved.
