Prime Video’s New Sci-Fi Masterpiece Is a 10/10 — The #1 Show Worldwide Perfect To Binge

Prime Video has been rather light on new streaming releases in December 2025, but it has just delivered in a major way. The brand new season 2 release of an acclaimed sci-fi series has finally arrived and is already being called the foundation for another budding sci-fi masterpiece.

After receiving 17 Emmy nominations for its groundbreaking first season, this elite sci-fi series has returned with a strong season 2 showing right out of the gate. It has also been hailed as one of the best video game adaptations ever made, next to The Last of Us and The Witcher.

After premiering on Wednesday, December 17, this show has already skyrocketed to the top of Prime Video’s U.S. and global streaming charts (via FlixPatrol). It surpassed Prime’s long-running #1 hit series, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, just one day after its debut. Don’t miss the #1 viral new Prime Video show perfect to binge-watch this weekend.

Fallout Is the Best Show To Binge On Prime Video This Weekend

With the long-awaited arrival of Fallout season 2 this week, it’s no surprise that one of the most-watched and critically acclaimed Prime Video series ever made is trending #1 around the world right now. The real question is – just because it’s popular and critic-approved, with a Certified Fresh 94% Rotten Tomatoes score, is this binge-worthy series right for you?

Firstly, this dystopian sci-fi adventure series is much more than that alone – it’s also a dark comedy and Western combined with action elements, in a similar vein to Prime Video’s massively successful The Boys franchise. The series also features a stellar cast, led by Ella Purnell of Yellowjackets acclaim, Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Zach Cherry (Severance), and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus).

Even though the season 2 premiere just dropped on Prime Video, Fallout is still incredibly bingeable, totaling just 9 episodes at the time of writing, including an 8-part first season and the newly released season 2, episode 1. New episodes of the 8-part second season will be released every Wednesday until February 4, 2026, and a third season is already in development.

Fallout Is Worth Watching Even If You Haven’t Played The Games

Although there may appear to be an entry barrier into the Fallout franchise for viewers who haven’t played the award-winning video games, this is surprisingly not the case. Prime Video’s Fallout series is very accessible to all viewers, whether you spent countless hours playing the video games, which first came out back in 1997, or have never even heard of them.

If you’re on the fence about whether Fallout is actually worth your time this weekend, give the first 10 minutes of the pilot episode a try. Without getting into spoiler territory, the scene is, in a word, unforgettable, setting the stage for the entire franchise and helping viewers dive right into an immersive story world with high stakes and fascinating circumstances.

Fallout is undoubtedly going to be the biggest hit on Prime Video for the immediate foreseeable future, and it certainly is not a series for everyone, especially those not big on violence in entertainment. That said, there are few, if any, better ways to make the most of your Prime Video subscription this winter than hopping aboard the Fallout hype train.
