The Premier League clubs with most red cards in the entire PL era, would you like to have a guess.
The top six are listed below, so try and work out who these half dozen might be before you look.
The Premier League era kicked off with the 1992/93 season and so that makes it over 33 years’ worth of matches to generate red cards.
So which six Premier League clubs do you think have managed the most sending offs in league matches over this time period?
Do you think Newcastle United might be troubling the scorers?
This season has seen two red cards for United already this season, with only 12 PL games gone. Anthony Gordon sent off against Liverpool and Dan Burn against Brentford.
The most recent red card in any Premier League match was Idrissa Gueye on Monday night for Everton against Manchester United.
David Moyes at his Newcastle United press conference on Friday revealed that the club had appealed against the red card but had seen that rejected, so Gueye will miss the match against United on Saturday.
Premier League clubs with most red cards in the PL era (1992 to 28 November 2025):
110 Arsenal, Everton
95 Newcastle United
94 Chelsea
85 West Ham
78 Spurs
As you can see, the failure of that appeal against Gueye’s sending off has meant Everton drawing level with Arsenal, top of the Premier League clubs for red cards in league matches these last 33+ years.
Newcastle United in a very ‘respectable’ third place.
Which is all the more ‘impressive’ when you consider that unlike Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea, Newcastle United have missed three of the Premier League seasons (1992/93, 2009/10, 2016/17)
