Percy Jackson will live to fight another day. Disney+’s popular series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, just got the green light for a third season ahead of its Season 2 premiere in December 2025. It’s great news for the Disney+ series, one of the few that has found mega-success for the Mouse House’s streaming service since its inception. The streamer announced the news with an adorable Instagram video (which you can see below) and press release hyping up the forthcoming seasons.
According to Disney, the third season will be based on The Titan’s Curse, the third novel in Rick Riordan’s bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series. “From the moment Percy Jackson and the Olympians debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages,” said Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television. “With season two set to premiere this December, we’re thrilled to announce that Percy’s journey will continue with a third season. Huge thanks to our incredible cast and creative team, our partners at 20th Television, and our visionary and talented producers who continue to bring Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and imagination.”

This Emmy-winning actor will take over from the late, great Lance Reddick in ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 2.
“We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+. This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time,” said Rick Riordan. “It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”
Good Things Come To Percy Jackson In Threes, It Seems
Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on the second installment of Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series, titled The Sea of Monsters. In the new season, according to the official synopsis:
“Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.”
Fans of the novels and book series have long hoped that more of Percy’s world would get adapted than the first two books (which have so far been covered in the films and this television adaptation). “WE BROKE THE 2 BOOK CURSE 🔥👏” wrote one fan on Instagram. “WERE GETTING NICO, ZOE AND RACHEL. STAY CALM STAY CALM. WERE GETYING THE APHRODITE SCENE STAY CALMMMMMMMMMMM” wrote another. It is clear that the fandom has long waited to see Percy’s full journey end up on screen, and their excitement is palpable.
That said, they’ll have to wait at least another year (if not longer!) until that third season arrives on-screen, as we await a more specific premiere date beyond “December 2025” from Disney for the “darker and more mature” Season 2. The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer. The show was reated by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, and is executive produced by is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, D.J.
