Gerard Butler returns to one of his best action thriller franchises in the first clip for the upcoming crime epic, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera. The sequel, which picks up following the explosive events of 2018’s Den of Thieves, sees Butler return as the aggressive and action-loving Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien. Only this time, he turns to the dark side…or so it would seem. Kicked off the force, Big Nick joins forces with his former enemy, O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s conman Donnie Wilson, on a major heist, with the new footage from the action sequel finding the pair going head-to-head. Action movie fans have been eager for the return of Gerard Butler as Big Nick ever since the first outing landed in theaters. While the first movie was met with a mixed response from critics, Den of Thieves was a big hit with audiences, earning a worldwide total of $80.5 million against a production budget of $30 million and was praised by many as a return to the old-school action crime sagas of old.
The sequel, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States on January 10, 2025, and promises to be another pitch-perfect action vehicle for Butler’s gruff antihero.

Alongside Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr., writer and director Christian Gudegast, who helmed the first outing, also returns for more heist action.
