Osman Kamara joins Blackburn Rovers from Arsenal

Osman Kamara says he was lured to Blackburn Rovers due to the potential pathway into the first team, with the winger highlighting the club as one that gives youth a chance after leaving Arsenal during the winger window.

The teenager departs ARSENAL after more than a decade with the Gunners and will now embark on a journey in East Lancashire after penning a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club as he seeks to make it in the professional game.

The Londoner will initially join up with Gregory Vignal’s Under-21s, but he feels the carrot is there to break into the senior side soon enough, and he’s hopeful that the opportunity can be earned through impressing in training.

“It feels great, amazing and I’m really happy to sign here,” the 19-year-old wideman said to RoversTV. I can’t wait to work and train. This is a club that gives younger players an opportunity to get into the first team and I’m excited to keep my head down and see if I can get some opportunities.

“Being 19 years old, I want to take that step into senior football and it’s a great opportunity for me to come here and show what I can do.

“I feel like the time’s right to kick on in my career and to get minutes in the senior game. My main reason for coming here is because this is a club that gives an opportunity to young players.

“That gives me a lot of motivation every day, knowing that I can come in and opportunities can arise.”

Over the years we have seen ARSENAL give so many chances to the academy players that many have broken through, but that Gunners squad is stacked with quality and it is becoming alot harder for talents to get the minutes they desire.

Kamara has made a massive decision by leaving Arsenal for Rovers, but it is one of that he will surely love and hopefully he will get the first-team minutes that has has been craving.
