Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Galatasaray are now hoping to sign Victor Osimhen permanently and are willing to offer Napoli big money in order to keep the long-term Chelsea target at the club for the long run.

Osimhen was all over the transfer headlines in the summer window as a number of the big clubs were reportedly very interested in getting a deal done after the Nigerian star revealed that he wanted to leave Napoli.

Chelsea were one of the clubs that were interested, but despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours, a move to Stamford Bridge never happed and now the Napoli star is on loan at Galatasaray for the season.

But that has not stopped speculation that CHELSEA could make a move for the player in the January window and Chelsea are reportedly one of the clubs that are very interested in a deal for the Nigerian star

What has happened?

Per Turkish outlet Sozcu, Galatasaray are now hoping to sign Victor Osimhen permanently and are willing to offer Napoli €50 million (£42m/$54m) for the 25-year-old forward.

Talk of Osimhen’s future has continued to make headlines this season, with speculation claiming he could move on to Arsenal, Chelsea or even Bayern Munich.

What has been said?

Amid all the speculation Florent Malouda recently backed the Blues to make a big move for the Nigerian star: ‘We almost signed Victor Osimhen in the summer, and he is the type of player that would add extra quality to this Chelsea team,’ Malouda told Coin Poker.

‘If there is an opportunity to bring him in in January, then I think the club has to look at it. From what I’ve read, he will cost less than the numbers that were quoted in the summer – the fee is reportedly in the region of £70m.

‘Galatasaray would hate to lose him, but he’s a Napoli player and the noises coming out of Naples recently indicate that her will be available in January.

‘Chelsea should be competing for the world’s best players. Osimhen is in that category.

‘You want to see the club add more quality to its team because that is what every ambitious club does, and his addition would bring Chelsea a step closer to the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.

‘It seems like the player wants to come to CHELSEA. We’ll see if we can get him, but I would love the club to move for him because a lot of things can happen between now and January.

‘There could be competition to bring him in – I would love to see the club working on a deal for him. Osimhen would be a great addition to the squad.’

CHELSEA TO TEMPT VINICIUS

CHELSEA FC may be gearing up to make a significant splash in the transfer market if rumors of Vinícius Júnior’s potential departure from Real Madrid prove true, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

After a brilliant season for Real Madrid last season in which he helped the Spaniards to another League title and another Champions League crown – Vinicius had expected to lift the gong, but Man City’s Rodri edged him out, leading to a furious reaction from the forward and Real.

Per a report from AS, the 24-year-old’s entourage are studying options for the future as they feel a number of circumstances are not quite right for the attacker at his current club.

Not only does the Brazilian winger feel unprotected by the referees, but has also had to deal with countless episodes of racial abuse over the years. That, coupled with the Ballon d’Or snub and interest from Saudi Arabia and the Premier League, could see Vinicius seek greener pastures, with his Real Madrid contract expiring in 2027.

Could Chelsea sign the attacker?

Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Vinícius’s potential arrival would bring qualities CHELSEA currently lacks. The Blues have struggled to find a reliable winger who can consistently break down Premier League defenses. Adding Vinícius’s flair to Chelsea’s attack could address this void and elevate the team’s ability to transition from defense to offense with more speed and precision.

‘His natural ability to create and convert chances would not only boost Chelsea’s scoring options but also provide a stronger link between the midfield and the attack.

‘Chelsea’s recent transfer strategy emphasizes young talent and long-term development, making Stamford Bridge an appealing destination for Vinícius. With a new era under Enzo Maresca and owners willing to make bold transfer moves, the club is building a squad capable of competing at the highest level. Chelsea’s commitment to bringing in young, talented players, such as Enzo Fernandez and Christopher Nkunku, demonstrates their vision of building a team that can dominate both domestically and in Europe.

‘Chelsea has been experimenting with various formations, often relying on wingers to provide width and penetration. Vinícius Júnior’s experience in La Liga and the Champions League would make him an immediate asset to Chelsea’s lineup. His off-the-ball movement and ability to exploit gaps in opposition defenses align with Pochettino’s high-tempo, attacking style. Vinícius would be a perfect partner for Chelsea’s young midfield, especially with players like Cole Palmer providing creative support.

‘Vinícius’s experience at Real Madrid means he is accustomed to the pressure and expectations that come with a big club. This mental toughness would serve him well in the high-stakes environment of the Premier League, helping him adapt quickly and become a leader in Chelsea’s offense.

‘His is skill set, age, and potential make him a worthwhile signing for Chelsea’s long-term plans. As the club seeks to establish a strong attacking core, Vinícius could be the missing piece that propels CHELSEA back to title contention.’

Fofana was born in Marseille and is a fan of the Ligue 1 side, so when he had contact with the club he admits he was tempted by the opportunity to move home.

What did Fofana Said?

‘I had a call that really touched me, and it would be a lie to say that I didn’t consider it,’ Fofana told Telefoot. ‘It was Medhi Benatia, sporting director of OM, and it touched me. Everyone knows why… I had a thought, but the goal, at the moment, is to succeed at Chelsea.

‘We had a call from Mr Benatia. It’s true that it went “boom, boom” in my heart because I was coming back from injury and I didn’t know if I was going to be part of the club’s project.

‘But I had a discussion with the coach and and he told me that he was counting on me this season. So, I said I was very happy, I was 100 per cent with Chelsea.

‘But after that, it’s true that Marseille are in my heart, so we’ll see…’
