One of Webtoon’s Most Popular Manhwa Is Finally Getting an Anime Adaptation, and It’s Coming Sooner Than You Think

Manhwas are more popular than ever, and the next Webtoon title that will be brought to life in animation has been revealed. Thanks to Solo Leveling‘s influence, Webtoon has recently announced that more than 20 works will be animated in the upcoming months and Naver’s platform has just announced that Teenage Mercenary is next in line to release an anime soon.

The announcement was shared by Oricon News, along with the Teenage Mercenary‘s anime release window. The news didn’t come as shocking to Webtoon fans given the popularity of Teenage Mercenary, which had a great reception in Japan, having ranked first in Line Manga in both 2023 and 2024. The manhwa also had the most revenue of any title for the app, which currently places it as the most successful webtoon in Japan. Likewise, Teenage Mercenary‘s anime adaption is perfectly timed and there are many reasons why the series should receive attention from fans.

Following the story of a child soldier returning home to attend high school after having grown up on a bloody battlefield and having to adjust to a new life, Teenage Mercenary, has everything to appeal to anime fans who enjoy incredible action scenes and a family-oriented overpowered and serious protagonist like Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling.
