FC Barcelona have officially confirmed that they will be facing Como 1907 in the Joan Gamper Trophy match ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Having initially announced that the game would take place at Spotify Camp Nou, Barça confirmed last week that they were unable to go ahead with the plan as they had failed to acquire the necessary licenses.
It has now been confirmed that the match will instead take place at Estadi Johan Cruyff, on August 10.
“Como 1907, the Italian Serie A club of former Blaugranes Cesc Fabregas and Sergi Roberto, will be Barça’s opponents in the 60th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy, “Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm” which will be played on 10 August at 9 pm CEST at the Estadi Johan Cruyff,” the statement read.

As confirmed in the statement, Barcelona will come up against former midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who is now the manager of Como.
The Catalans’ former captain, Sergi Roberto, also plays for the Italian club while La Masia talent Alex Valle recently joined them on a permanent transfer after spending the second half of the last season on loan there.
The game against Como will also feature the presentation of Hansi Flick’s squad and will come after the squad’s three friendly games on their Asian Tour.
The game against Como will also be the team’s final test ahead of the start of the new La Liga season, which comes against Mallorca on Saturday, 16 August.
The Joan Gamper Trophy match will be a historic one as it will see the two sides meet for the very first time in Barça’s 125-year history and Como’s 118-year history.
