North Macedonian FA releases detail of match-fixing probe

February 27 – The Football Federation of North Macedonia (FFM) has made public correspondence from UEFA’s Integrity Department regarding ongoing investigations into match-fixing within domestic leagues.

The documents shared by the Federation highlight irregularities linked to suspicious betting patterns across several domestic championship matches and friendly fixtures.

FFM clarified that while they are sharing these reports to keep the public informed, certain sensitive information remains redacted to protect the integrity of the ongoing legal proceedings and comply with the directives of law enforcement agencies.

The investigation includes the flagged irregularities involving specific betting payouts. Indications of suspicious betting activity have surfaced regarding several games, notably the FK Bashkimi vs. FK Vardar Negotino match from the Second MFL (the country’s second tier league) played on March 24, 2025.

The match between FK Kozhuf and FK Bashkimi is already the subject of an active court proceeding, and as a result, no further details can be disclosed at this time.

The Federation emphasised that it does not function as an investigative body itself, but acts as a primary coordinator between international football authorities and local law enforcement. FFM said remains in close cooperation with UEFA’s integrity unit and competent state institutions to fully clear all allegations and suspicions.

Reaffirming its commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport, the FFM said that additional information will be shared with the public once the cases reach a more advanced stage.
