New ‘M3GAN’ Collectible Doll Revealed Ahead of Action Horror Sequel

Universal and Blumhouse seem to be going all-out in the marketing campaign for their latest horror movie sequel, M3GAN 2.0. Released in January 2023, the original M3GAN film was a sleeper hit at the beginning of the year, grossing an impressive $181 million worldwide against a $12 million budget. The campy horror film would quickly get a sequel greenlit, and now M3GAN 2.0 is shaping up to be an even more ridiculous film in the best way possible. To coincide with the movie’s release, the marketing team behind the project have unveiled some unsettling merchandise, including a doll based on the titular character.

Mattel Creations has partnered with Universal and Blumhouse to release a special edition Monster High Skullector M3GAN doll, based on her appearance in the first movie. The fashion doll franchise Monster High has become well-known for its clever renditions of classic monsters in the form of collectible dolls, making M3GAN right at home with the rest of its lineup. The figure is delivered in a premium box and is currently limited to only two per customer online.

The murderous doll who captivated pop culture in 2023 is back. And this time she’s built different.

The unique doll also comes with a genuinely creepy feature that is a first for Mattel’s Skullector Doll line. According to the description and photos of the item, the M3GAN Doll features a removable face, which reveals the character’s “truest evil robot self.” When removing M3GAN’s face, collectors can proudly display the robot character with a menacing mechanical look, making it a creepy collectible that is worth picking up for any hardcore fan.

M3GAN 2.0 has had an unabashedly cheesy marketing campaign, with its use of the Britney Spears song “Oops!… I Did It Again” to further lean into the ridiculous notion of M3GAN coming back to life in a sequel. This time around, the titular robot is going up against another sentient and evil AI that was based on her own design, leading to an almost T2: Judgment Day sort of plot with M3GAN becoming the protector instead of the antagonist. Increasing the scale and action, the upcoming sequel appears to be keeping things fresh while embracing more of the campy elements of the original film.

The Skullector Doll isn’t the only creepy merchandise being sold for the film; the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain is also selling a ME3GAN popcorn bucket that resembles the character’s head. The bucket is equally unsettling as the doll, and requires people who want to eat popcorn from it to open up M3GAN’s head by splitting it in half. Overall, it seems that there is an abundance of M3GAN merchandise for fans to enjoy while they wait for the film to be released on Jun. 27.

Aside from M3GAN 2.0 being released this summer, there is also the spinoff film SOULM8TE, scheduled for release on Jan. 9, 2026. Written and directed by Kate Dolan, the movie will revolve around a man who buys an android to cope with the death of his wife. It will be interesting to see if M3GAN 2.0 offers any hints that the franchise could have a third film, allowing director Gerard Johnstone to take the character in a new direction.
