New ‘Harry Potter’ Photos Show Off Costume Redesign & ‘Sherlock’ Star’s Key Role

The upcoming Harry Potter reboot from HBO has been filming for several months now, and fans have once again been treated to a new look at the big-budget production. While the television series has had its fair share of controversies, one of which is never-ending with J.K. Rowling’s continued involvement, there are still plenty of people who have remained open-minded about the remake. It will certainly not please everyone, but it seems HBO’s Harry Potter is making small adjustments to differentiate itself from the films while remaining faithful to the source material.

New images from the set of HBO’s Harry Potter series have surfaced online, featuring Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy. The group is seen wearing their Hogwarts student robes, which have gone through a serious redesign compared to the movie franchise. Another batch of photos unveils Sherlock star Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch, who famously teaches the students how to fly with a broomstick. You can check out the images below.

Those familiar with the previous Harry Potter films remember that the Hogwarts uniforms were mostly black, with the accent colors reflecting the house the student belonged to. It seems HBO’s remake has opted for a dark brown look that does not overtly feature bright colors to display the likes of Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Although this is probably a minor change for those who casually consume the franchise, diehards might have some trouble accepting the resdesign. No matter the case, audiences will likely continue to be shocked (or disappointed) as pieces of new information leak out of the prolific production.
