New Final Fantasy Game Coming To Game Pass On March 3

New Final Fantasy Game Coming To Game Pass On March 3

A new Final Fantasy game has been confirmed to arrive on Xbox Game Pass in March, and you should be getting ready to dive into this critically acclaimed RPG once you can. It’s been a busy start of the year for Microsoft’s subscription service, with dozens of new games arriving between January and February, some of which are absolutely remarkable. Some examples are Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and Space Marine 2’s addition to Xbox Game Pass.

Now, another huge game is entering the catalog. On March 3, Xbox Game Pass will receive Final Fantasy 3. The news was shared by Microsoft in a post on Xbox Wire, which highlighted all the new games arriving as part of the second wave of February, as well as some of the very first titles being added in March.

The Two Previous Games Are Also On The Catalog

Final Fantasy 3 is one of the first March additions to Xbox Game Pass, along with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which also arrives on March 3. Once it is included in the catalog, you’ll be able to play it on Xbox Series X/S consoles, PC, and via cloud gaming. You’ll have access to FF3 via Game Pass if you’re an Ultimate, Premium, or PC Game Pass tier member – the Essential tier does not grant this benefit.

The game’s addition to the catalog follows in the wake of the addition of Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 2 to Xbox Game Pass earlier this year. FF1 joined the subscription service in January, while FF2 was added in February. With the third core title’s addition in March, it is possible to speculate we’ll get more games from the series every month moving forward, though it’s unclear at which point it will stop, as it feels unlikely Square Enix would release Final Fantasy 16 on Game Pass by next year.

FF3 Is Definitely Worth Checking Out

This RPG Added The Class System

If you’re a fan of RPGs, Final Fantasy 3 is worth checking out, especially if you can play it without any extra costs as part of your Xbox Game Pass membership. Released in 1990, FF3 introduced the class-based Job system to Final Fantasy, allowing players to change their characters’ classes and, therefore, how they performed in battle. The game does not feature the most memorable story arc, but it is a JRPG icon.

You’ll meet enemies like Xande and Cloud of Darkness in Final Fantasy 3, which you may recognize from the critically acclaimed MMORPG FFXIV, for instance. Furthermore, if you choose to play it, you’ll get to better understand how the series felt before the introduction of the ATB system in Final Fantasy, which arrived in its sequel, FF4.

Considering that Square Enix is adding these classic entries to Microsoft’s gaming catalog, you should take the opportunity to either revisit the series or get to learn more about it, seeing where it all began and how it changed over the years. Hopefully, Final Fantasy 3’s addition to Xbox Game Pass is followed by Final Fantasy 4 and more as the months of 2026 go by.
