Millie Bobby Brown and Rachel Brosnahan Developing Netflix Series ‘Prism’

Millie Bobby Brown and Rachel Brosnahan Developing Netflix Series ‘Prism’

Millie Bobby Brown has spent the best part of a decade playing Eleven in Stranger Things, but she will officially say goodbye to the character when the series debuts its fifth and final season this year. The actress has no plans to step away from the spotlight though, as she has already lined up several projects to keep her busy, including starring in and executive producing a new supernatural series for Netflix. The project, titled Prism, will see Brown join forces with a Superman star, while also reteaming with the Russo brothers following her lead role in their most recent — and extremely divisive — big-budget sci-fi epic.

According to Deadline, Rachel Brosnahan will serve as an executive producer on Prism for Netflix, hot off of her acclaimed turn as Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman opposite David Corenswet. She will be joined by Russell Kahn via Scrap Paper Pictures, the production company that she founded in 2020, as well as Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen of Assemble Media, and Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars directors Joe and Anthony Russo on behalf of AGBO, in addition to Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Alessandra Maman. It marks Brown’s second collaboration with AGBO following The Electric State earlier this year.

Based on a short story of the same name developed by Nick Shafir, Prism will star Brown as Cassie, “a woman with the unique ability to communicate with apparitions, who must uncover the cause of a newly discovered phenomenon that causes visitors (ghosts) to appear all over the world before it’s too late.” Etan Frankel has reportedly been tapped as showrunner on the series, adding to his notable list of credits, which include roles as an executive producer and writer on shows such as Shameless, Animal Kingdom, and Friday Night Lights. He also created the limited series Joe vs. Carole for Peacock, offering a fictionalized account of a podcast detailing the rivalry between zoo owner Joe Exotic and animal rights activist Carole Baskin.

Millie Bobby Brown Has Several Projects in the Pipeline

Netflix will kick off the concluding season of Stranger Things with Volume 1 (Episodes 1–4) on Nov. 26, followed by Volume 2 (Episodes 5–7) on Dec. 31, Christmas Day, and the Finale (Episode 8) on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve – but as one curiosity door closes, another one opens, and it looks like Brown is already embarking on new endeavors. She currently has five upcoming projects listed on her IMDb page, excluding the newly announced Prism, which the outlet notes will not interfere with the actress’ other commitments.

Brown is in final negotiations to star as Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug in director Gia Coppola’s sports biopic Perfect, which she is also down to produce. That project is expected to land on Netflix, continuing Brown’s longstanding relationship with the streaming service, following on from Damsel and The Electric State. She also has Enola Holmes 3 coming up, as well as a rom-com with The Fabelmans breakout Gabriel LaBelle, so there should be no shortage of Brown on screens following her swansong chapter in Stranger Things.
