Michelle Pfeiffer Returns to TV With These Two Star-Studded Upcoming Series

After portraying Betty Ford in Showtime’s The First Lady in 2022, three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer is headed back to the small screen with two projects in 2026. While most are aware of Pfeiffer’s starring role opposite Kurt Russell in the Yellowstone spin-off The Madison, others may not be aware of the even more promising part in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, a star-studded Apple TV+ original series premiering in April.

Created by prolific TV scribe David E. Kelley, Pfeiffer’s husband of 32 years, Margo’s Got Money Troubles marks the first time the two have worked together on a project in their illustrious careers. If that wasn’t compelling enough, the show about Margo (Elle Fanning), the daughter of an ex-wrestler and a former Hooters waitress, also stars Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, Nick Offerman, and more.

Michelle Pfeiffer & David E. Kelley Finally Work Together in ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’

One of the finest Hollywood actors to ever do it, three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer (Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Love Field) is returning to TV this March and April after a starring role on Showtime’s The First Lady. In March, Pfeiffer will play a grieving mother seeking therapy in Montana in Paramount+’s The Madison, a contemporary Yellowstone spin-off co-starring Kurt Russell and created by Taylor Sheridan.

While Sheridan has become popular for his prolific career, don’t forget about David E. Kelley’s unbelievable output as a career-long TV scribe. With over 25 TV series that he created, co-created, or helped develop, Kelley has expanded from his legal beat on such shows as L.A. Law, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, The Practice, Goliath, The Lincoln Lawyer, and others, to create such hit shows as Big Little Lies, Chicago Hope, Mr. Mercedes, Big Sky, The Undoing, and many more.

Despite ruling television for over 30 years, Kelley had never previously worked with Michelle Pfeiffer, whom he married in 1993. Busy with her own Hall of Fame movie career, Pfeiffer has dazzled since the moment she lit up the screen opposite Al Pacino in Scarface (in Grease 2, really), earning three Academy Award nods and working with the best actors and directors in town. Pfeiffer’s radiant beauty often masks her supreme acting talent, and she still doesn’t get the credit she deserves for her believable versatility across all genres.

Chances are, all that will change with Margo’s Got Money Troubles, premiering on April 15, 2026. With Kelley writing Pfeiffer’s role as Shyanne Millet, a former Hooters waitress whose newly pregnant daughter Margo (Elle Fanning) turns to OnlyFans to make money, viewers are once again going to see another wildly different performance by Pfeiffer (sassy, sexy, and stern). The show also stars Nick Offerman as Jinx Millet, a former pro wrestler who knows a thing or two about performing in front of a camera and a rabid audience, and uses his experience to teach Margo a thing or two.

As Margo swaps college for camming, she takes advice from a faculty member played by Nicole Kidman (her fourth project with Kelley, including the award-winning Big Little Lies) and finds solace from Shyanne. The star-studded cast also includes Greg Kinnear as Shyanne’s boyfriend Kenny, Lauren San Giacomo as Tessa, Marcia Gay Harden as Elizabeth, Michael Angarano as Mark, and wrestler Chris Jericho as himself.

Even in a supporting role rather than the lead in The Madison, Pfeiffer’s upcoming turn in Margo’s Got Money Troubles couldn’t be more exciting. Given Kelley’s caliber of writing and Pfeiffer’s diverse acting range, it’s hard to think of a better creative TV pairing. That they happened to be married and working together for the first time only sweetens the pot.
