Merseyside derby at Anfield rearranged in latest Premier League fixture changes

Liverpool’s early Premier League schedule has undergone further adjustments following the latest round of television broadcast selections.

Two of the Reds fixtures in September have been moved to new dates and times as part of the latest batch of picks from Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

September promises to be a packed month with six scheduled matches, including Champions League group stage action, Carabao Cup involvement, and Premier League games including a home Merseyside derby against rivals Everton.

The Premier League have reminded fans that fixture times are subject to change throughout the campaign, particularly with nine English clubs competing in European competitions during the 2025–26 season.

Among the latest changes is the highly anticipated Merseyside derby at Anfield against Everton, which has been brought forward to a Saturday lunchtime slot. Originally scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, September 20, the clash will now kick off at 12:30pm to accommodate TNT Sports coverage.

However, that kick-off time may yet be subject to change. Should the reigning champions be drawn to play their opening Champions League group stage fixture away from home in the midweek leading up to the derby, the match would be pushed back by 24 hours and take place instead on Sunday, September 21 at 12pm, still broadcasted live on TNT Sports.

Before that Arne Slot side trip to Burnley has also been rescheduled. The match, which was originally set for Saturday, September 13, will now be played on Sunday, September 14 at 2pm, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

These changes mean that each of reigning champions first five Premier League fixtures of the 2025–26 season will now be televised live in the UK, highlighting the continued interest in the reigning champions as they begin their title in the upcoming season.

The Reds will kick off their campaign at Anfield against Bournemouth on Friday, August 15 at 8pm, live on Sky Sports. That will be followed by a tricky away trip to Newcastle United on Monday, August 25 at 8pm, also on Sky. They will then host Arsenal in a mouth-watering early-season showdown on Sunday, August 31 at 4:30pm, once again selected by Sky for live coverage.

Before the league action begins, fans can catch Liverpool in the Community Shield as they take on Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 10 at 3pm, with the match set to be shown live on TNT Sports.

The final confirmed fixture for September, Liverpool’s league trip to Crystal Palace, remains unchanged. That match will take place on Saturday, September 27 at 3pm and has not been selected for live broadcast.

Here is Liverpool’s full fixture list for September 2025:

  • Burnley (A) – Sunday, September 14, 2:00pm – Sky Sports
  • Everton (H) – Saturday, September 20, 12:30pm – TNT Sports
  • Crystal Palace (A) – Saturday, September 27, 3:00pm – Not on TV

With the new season just under a month away, fans now have a clearer picture of when and where to catch the Premier League champions in action during the opening months in what promises to be another thrilling campaign defending their crown.
