I’m writing this at 6.30am on Tuesday morning, so I fully expect more to be written and said about Cole Palmer, Marc Cucurella, and Joao Pedro being spotted parting in Dubai, allegedly….
It will obviously be ridiculous if anyone does decide to dramatise it or speak negatively on it, because it’s just three lads enjoying some downtime. But I’m sure some in the media or on X will decide to run a story on it claiming that they shouldn’t be living any kind of life away from football or whatever.
If that happens, jog on. Do one. These players literally focus 99% of their time on football. Yes, they get paid very well to do it. Yes, most people at grassroots level have to pay to play football. So they are very lucky, and they will know they are very lucky. But it still doesn’t mean that they cannot enjoy some time off, have a drink now and then, and do a bit of dancing in a club. Allow it. Let your hair down lads, it happens rarely, and everyone needs an outlet from their day jobs now and then.
So before this even gets turned into a nonstory, I’m shutting it down.
The second nonstory is Chelsea’s players ‘ignoring’ Hull City mascots. So boring man.
If you watch the video, the players walk in and the kids are on their right. They are so focused and switched on, concentrating on getting to the changing rooms to get ready for a big game in the FA Cup, they would not have even realised those kids were there. Anyone who tells me that they purposely decided to ignore those kids, then I’m afraid you are wrong.
They were in their zone. Liam Delap saw a former staff member who he hugged, sure. But she was further down the line and more in his eye line and also, they are friends!
None of those Hull mascots had their hands out looking for a handshake, they weren’t Chelsea fans, and look at their faces, they were just there and buzzing to see the Chelsea stars regardless, they weren’t even expecting hand shakes or acknowledgements – they also got that later for the team line-ups and also in the tunnel!?
Some of the names those players got called afterwards was just absurd. Talk about fake outrage and over reactions. Sometimes I think they are all just looking for stories about Chelsea, well, I mean, I know they are. It sells, it gets clicks. They don’t need to make stories from nothing, there are enough stories about Chelsea in the last few years to feed their kids!
No issues from me at all with Chelsea players ‘ignoring’ kids. Absolutely something of nothing. Anyone who has ever played a serious sport or game of football will completely understand that they were just focused and in the zone, and would not have even registered the fact that there was kids there – they were not even in their eye lines, they were just shoved in the corner!?
It’s almost as if they are fine tooth combing everything to find a negative these days. Oh, that’s because they are.
You know I will call out anything on here that needs to be called out, but this wasn’t one of them – and if true, neither is the three lads partying in Dubai. I just wish I was with them!
