MCU Series ‘Vision Quest’ Brings Back ‘Iron Man’ Villain on Disney+

MCU Series ‘Vision Quest’ Brings Back ‘Iron Man’ Villain on Disney+

There are many forgotten characters from the MCU‘s past that fans are desperate to see return to the big (or small) screen. That list includes surprisingly popular characters, like W’Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya), Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell). One such name is returning for the upcoming Vision Quest Disney+
series. However, we’ll forgive you for not immediately remembering who they are.

Per Deadline, Faran Tahir will reprize his long forgotten MCU role in Vision Quest. Tahir actually played the MCU’s first on-screen villain (providing you don’t count The Incredible Hulk as cannon) in Iron Man, way back in 2008. Faran Tahir played Raza, the leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organization who kidnapped Tony Stark. If anything, Raza is responsible for the entire MCU, as him holding Stark hostage caused the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist to build his first prototype “in a cave… with a box of scraps.”

Vision Quest was first announced in 2022. The series will star Paul Bettany, returning as the reincarnated Vision, who had died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War before being brought back by the Scarlett Witch in WandaVision. Fans are also hoping to see White Vision (which sounds more problematic than it actually is), who was also introduced in WandaVision, but hasn’t been seen or alluded to in the MCU since. Vision Quest was officially picked up as a series in May 2024, along with the announcement that James Spader will reprise his role as Ultron. Todd Stashwick has also been cast in the series in an undisclosed role.

‘Vision Quest’ Releases in 2026 on Disney+

Just like we’d forgive you for forgetting Raza from the MCU’s long history of forgettable villains, we’ll also let you off for forgetting that Vision Quest is even a thing. The series has flown under the development radar of most fans, with some assuming it had quietly been scrapped by Marvel Studios due to a lack of substantial updates over the past two years. Vision Quest premieres on Disney+ some time in 2026, although an exact release window hasn’t been confirmed.

‘Black Panther’ Spin-off Series Creator Explains Why the MCU Show Is Not Live-Action

‘Eyes of Wakanda’ is the first Marvel animated project within the MCU sacred timeline, and it is this way for an important reason.

In an interview in late 2024, the show’s star, Paul Bettany, teased that the series will be entering production soon. “We’re cooking up something that I’m really excited about,” the actor teased. When pressed for any plot details, he only joked, “snitches end up in ditches.” The Marvel Spoilers Police are real, and they don’t mess around. Plot details for Vision Quest are practically nonexistent. Even the “trustworthy” leakers and insiders haven’t been able to glimpse anything juicy about the new show.

While we wait patiently for new details about Vision Quest, Disney+ will be keeping us more than entertained as Daredevil: Born Again is less than two months away from release. A new trailer for the series just dropped online, and it teased the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, along with fan favorites Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Frank Castle, and Wilson Fisk. Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4.
