McKennie, Carter-Vickers, and Trusty all set for new managers

Weston McKennie, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Auston Trusty will all have new club managers coming this fall.

Serie A side Juventus and Scottish Premiership club Celtic were two clubs to part ways with their current managers on Monday following weekend results. Igor Tudor was relieved of his duties in Turin after Juventus’ 1-0 loss to Lazio on Sunday evening.

The result extended the Bianconeri’s winless run to eight matches, dropping them to eighth place in the table. Tudor won 10 of his 24 matches in charge of Juventus, putting McKennie as his captain at several times during his time as manager.

McKennie has made 14 appearances this season across all competitions.

As for Celtic, the reigning SPFL winners are in a worrying spot after Sunday’s 3-1 loss to league-leading Hearts. Brendan Rodgers stepped down as manager of the club, with Celtic sitting eight points back in the league table.

Former manager Martin O’Neill and former player Shaun Maloney are both serving in a joint-interim role.

Carter-Vickers, who continued to play a stalwart under Rodgers, recently suffered an Achilles injury has will reportedly miss between “three to five months”.

Trusty, who missed time this season with a foot injury, hasn’t played since August 20. He’s only made four appearances this campaign despite playing in 37 matches a season ago.

Celtic hosts Falkirk in SPFL action on Wednesday before taking on rivals Rangers on Sunday in the Scottish League Cup semifinals.
