Before last night’s Europa League match in Athens, Roma sporting director Frederic Massara spoke about the club’s transfer moves.
“There’s no race against Napoli for Sulemana. Names are being floated these days; if there are opportunities, we’ll try to seize them, but nothing is on the horizon.”
Massara confirmed that the attack was the area that needed strengthening the most: “We’ve always identified the attack as the one that needed strengthening. Three players have arrived who will give us a huge boost; we’ll see if there are any situations. We had considered Carrasco, but that’s definitely gone.”
Then the sporting director discussed Dybala’s condition and praised Gasperini’s work: “With this knee problem, it’s more prudent for Dybala not to play. We’re not worried, but we’ll have diagnostic tests tomorrow. We’ve embarked on a journey of renewing and rejuvenating the squad.”
“These young players need to grow and improve through their playing. They can make mistakes, but we have to support them. We have a great coach, capable of developing the players’ talent like no other.”
