Manchester City star explains defeat ‘Another day we would put all the balls in the net’

Manchester City star Matheus Nunes has a glittering career in punditry ahead of him clearly, judging by his reaction to Newcastle United defeating Pep Guardiola’s side.

Saturday night seeing the game end Newcastle 2 Manchester City 1, with Eddie Howe’s team clearly deserving the victory.

The visitors had more of the ball but United had more and better clear chances, Big Nick Woltemade could have had  hat-trick on another day, whilst Harvey Barnes missed an open goal before winning the match with a quality two goal second-half.

According to this brilliant insight from Matheus Nunes though; “If it was another day we would put all the balls in the net and the result would have been different…”

It was unbelievable how it took over an hour for the first goal as there were so many chances by then, but I reckon a fair score at that point would have been maybe 3-1 to Newcastle United, the Manchester City star totally deluded if he think they deserved to win. By the final whistle, probably 4-2 or so would have been about right to United.

“I think it could have been different.

“I think we had a lot of chances that we could have converted and we would be talking about a different game.

“But this is football.

“We didn’t take our chances, they took it. It is what it is.

“Today wasn’t our day.

“If it was another day we would put all the balls in the net and the result would be different.

“I don’t think there’s any magical explanation.”
