Luis Diaz is to leave Liverpool with nothing but well wishes, and while there is an element of sadness to his exit, his transfer is seen as “really good business.”
Bayern Munich saw their offer of €75 million (£65.6m) accepted by Liverpool, with the Colombian now allowed to leave Japan and fly to Germany to complete his transfer.
Diaz signed for the club in January 2022 and since then, has endeared himself to the Reds faithful, who bestowed him with one of the best songs for a player in recent memory.
He has won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup (twice) and Community Shield during his time at Liverpool and news of his impending exit left supporters with plenty to say.
A move that makes sense for all parties…
Nothing but love for Diaz, enjoyed watching him play and he always gave everything he had. The move is right for him and us but I’ll miss him (and his song). Good luck, Lucho lad ??

I’ll really miss Diaz. Such a talent to watch yerno… but mostly I’ll miss his song ?. 70m + for him is really good business with 2 years left on his deal.

Luis Diaz – great player and won lots of trophies with the Reds . Seems like at 28 he wanted more money and the Reds at that age obviously wouldn’t give him what he wants . A good fee received and best of luck to Lucho
Will be remembered as a good signing and a top player ??

Personally think it’s the right time to cash in on Diaz, the one thing top clubs do is know when to move certain players on whilst interest is high before they crack. Good move all round.

“I believe all 3 parties have got what they wanted so a move where everyone is happy, he always worked hard for us I just wish he’d have gone on the outside a bit more then he’d have been even more effective (and might have got that payrise) anyway good luck to the lad, Munich is a great place.”

Those first few months of Luis Diaz at Liverpool were something else. So much energy, so much magic. He never quite got the same rhythm back after the injury, but still had his moments and was instrumental in last season’s title success. A move now probably makes sense for all. https://t.co/r9VQ0nLIAb

Lucho has been a bewitching player to watch in a red shirt, is a game-changer & Anfield always sounds great when his song rings out. Not a player I want to see leave, but if he wants to go then it’s the right time to cash in https://t.co/4XM3gzQXzi

Gutted to see Diaz go, he’s been superb for us at times, feel like the knee injury stopped us seeing him at his very peak, think it’s the right moves for all parties now though. https://t.co/UEoL2a5THz

And tributes to a player who gave it his all…
It’s mad really when you think about the sale of Luis Díaz. When you’re a kid growing up watching football, the idea of selling a player in his prime, someone so integral to the team, feels unthinkable. But of course, they must sell. It’s the modern game. A stock market style… pic.twitter.com/iGMVSx8hnM

I hope Diaz smashes it at Bayern. For whatever flaws he might have, you can never accuse him of not giving his all for the club in every single match he played. I think the 2024 League Cup final epitomised that.
He’s also the reason for one of my favourite Klopp quotes. pic.twitter.com/zdzcuDUbXV

Brilliant servant to the club for 3 and a half seasons. Came in with relentless work-rate and gave everything in a Liverpool shirt. Played a crucial part of our 20th title on the LW/False 9 with 25G/A. We will miss him and his song.
Thank you for your contribution, Luis Díaz!?? pic.twitter.com/tOYXoHyFY3

Sad to see Luis Diaz leave Liverpool. Seen uncharitable assessments focused on ‘inconsistency’. Maybe in end product but consistently an electric player, gorgeous touch, bags of tricks & pace, elite carrier, always trusted with/without ball, strong & a fighter. Leaves a champion pic.twitter.com/QFKdzwXKRW

“We knew it was coming but still a bit gutted. Personally I’d have given him the new contract but I’m a fan and not Slot, Hughes, Edwards etc. Always appreciated his hard work. Good luck Diaz.”

Two league cups, an FA cup & a Premier League title for Diaz at Liverpool.
Those first six months he was a proper livewire. A bag of tricks.
The injury at Arsenal set him back but he reinvented himself as a forward.
Best of luck to the man from Barrancas.

I’m sad to see Diaz go. I think we’ll miss his quality and versatility. Work to be done….

Diaz was frustrating at times, but you couldn’t fault his effort and grind. He showed up massively for us last season as well. He’s not a club legend, but he definitely ranks higher than guys like Torres and Suarez for me. Not based on ability, obviously, but on contribution.

Sad to see Diaz go. Inconsistent at times, but contributed heavily to our success last season and still feel he had more to give. Need another quality winger to replace him at LW.

By agreeing a deal with Bayern, Liverpool have been able to cash in substantially on a 28-year-old who has two years left on his contract and with a clear view of what comes next in attack.
It is a transfer that makes sense for all parties, but that is not to say Liverpool will not miss Diaz’s commitment and tenacity.
He must be commended for filling the hole that had been left by Sadio Mane. An electric player who is to depart the club with nothing but well wishes, as it should be.
