CHELSEA have officially announced that Lola Brown has signed her first professional contract with the club, penning a three-year deal.
The Blues posted on the club website: ‘The 17-year-old midfielder joined the Blues in the 2019/20 campaign and went on to feature for our Under-12s. She has impressed in the years since and was recently voted Chelsea Women’s Academy U18 Player of the Year for the last season.
‘Upon reaching this special milestone in her career, Brown said: ‘I’ve always been a Chelsea fan since I was a little girl, so it’s an absolute dream to sign my first contract. It’s an amazing feeling.’
Head of women’s football Paul Green added: ‘Lola is a very bright prospect and we’re delighted that she has signed her first professional contract with the club at the age of 17.
‘We’ve got really high hopes for her in the future and look forward to seeing her develop and improve in the upcoming years.’
‘On the international stage, Brown has represented England at Under-16s and Under-17s level. She recently helped the Young Lionesses achieve a historic fourth-place finish at the U-17s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
‘Everyone at Chelsea would like to congratulate Lola on her first professional contract, and we wish her every success for the years ahead!’
