Hamann says Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka would be his preferred candidate to be Salah’s successor at LIVERPOOL but suggests Sancho, who joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United in the summer, could be an alternative option if he rediscovers his form at Stamford Bridge.
Arne Slot is facing the prospect of losing Salah next summer as the Egypt international’s contract is due to expire: ‘No one can replicate Mohamed Salah’s numbers and his availability,’ Hamann told Flashscore.
‘If I had to pick another player to replace him with, Liverpool would have to go for Bukayo Saka.
‘If Jadon Sancho can find the form he had at Borussia Dortmund, he could be an option to play on the right wing. In the short term, Liverpool have great forwards to fill in that spot too.’

ALEXANDER-ARNOLD IS GONE?
Pundit Tim Sherwood has opened up and claimed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool amidst all the interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
LIVERPOOL have been doing alot of business over the last couple of transfer windows adding players to the side that will help get the club challenging for titles once again, but they are also keen to keep hold of some of their biggest players.
Alexander-Arnold has been criticized for many of his defensive displays during his time at the club , but that doesnt hide the fact that he is still one of the very best players in his position.
The England star has been the subject of much speculation amid rumours of a new contract at Anfield and interest from Real Madrid, but it seems that the decision has already been made on his immediate future.
“I think with Trent, I think he’s gone,” Sherwood said. “Once Real Madrid come knocking for you… He’s won everything at the football club and been a magnificent servant but there’s no chance they’re keeping him now I wouldn’t have thought.”
amid all the speculation – LIVERPOOL have been encouraged to cash in on the star – When asked if the Merseyside club should consider selling Alexander-Arnold, Glen Johnson told Betfred: “Yes, absolutely. They’d have been having talks that we’re not aware of for sure because you can’t allow players to get so far into their contract when they’re so valuable.
‘It would be a complete head loss to let him go for free. Nobody wants to see him leave, but you may as well cash in because they know something’s going on already. I don’t know if Trent wants to leave or the club are happy for him to leave, but it would be stupid for Liverpool to not cash in if he is going to leave when his contract expires.”
He added: “You never want to lose your best players, but I don’t know if it would make much of a difference to LIVERPOOL if he leaves in January or at the end of the season if he was planning to leave the club.
‘It would have an impact overall because you never want to see your best players go and you don’t want to let them go.’
