However, the same report claims that Marseille are in no rush to part ways with the 24-year-old. The French club would only consider selling Greenwood for a record-breaking fee, having placed an asking price of around €100m on his head. Liverpool are said to have no financial constraints at present and could be willing to meet those demands if they decide to pursue the deal.

A player worth considering?

Purely from a footballing perspective, Greenwood has been one of the standout attackers in Europe this season. The England international has settled well at Marseille and has become a key figure in De Zerbi’s team.
