Jennifer Aniston, Tom Holland and More Celebs Who’ve Never Been to the Met Gala
Guys, you know you’d better watch out—because Lauryn Hill is making her Met Gala debut.
The “Doo Wop (That Thing)” singer attended the prestigious fashion event for the first time ever on May 5, stepping out onto the iconic steps at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a pale yellow suit featuring a standing collar that draped down to a train. As a guest of 2025 Met Gala co-chair Pharrell Williams, Lauryn completed her look with jewelry by designer Emefa Cole, who used single mine origin gold on the pieces celebrating Ghanaian royalty.
Lauryn’s accessories were a nod to this year’s Met Gala theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which centered around 18th century fashion investigated in Monica L. Miller‘s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
“It’s just given us an opportunity and platform to celebrate that really amazing, powerful color of Black,” Pharrell exclusively told E! News’ Zuri Hall at party. “Here’s a moment where we get to celebrate the people—Black people—and with dandyism.”
