Jonah Hill Is Truly Unrecognizable in First Images From Upcoming Comedy, ‘Cut Off’

The word “unrecognizable” is thrown around a lot when it comes to actors transforming their appearance for roles. But it has arguably never been more appropriate than right now. 21 Jump Street star Jonah Hill has been spotted on the set of his upcoming Cut Off, and you’d be forgiven for struggling to believe that it’s even him. But rest assured, we have it on good authority that the blonde-haired, bespectacled gentleman in the images is indeed The Wolf of Wall Street star.

Jonah Hill first broke onto the comedy scene with minor roles in the likes I Heart Huckabees, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Click, before joining forces with filmmaker and producer Judd Apatow and launching into the Hollywood stratosphere with Knocked Up and Superbad. Since then, Hill has landed major success with the Jump Street franchise, received two Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street, and has branched into directing with the critically acclaimed coming-of-age comedy Mid90s.

Cut Off is just one of several new projects helmed by Hill, and sees the actor star, write, and direct this upcoming comedy about two wealthy siblings who are forced to support themselves when their parents cut them off. Set for release by Warner Bros. Pictures on July 17, 2026, Cut Off stars Kristen Wiig, Bette Midler, and Nathan Lane alongside Hill, and you can check out images of the actor on set below…

“This is Jonah Hill. Yes, actually,” said one X/Twitter user when sharing the image of the truly unrecognizable actor on set. Sporting long, blonde locks, flamboyant glasses, and a full beard, it’s hard to believe it’s the same guy from War Dogs. Bypassing the more rude and unnecessary comments, one user said, “Whhaaatttt no fuckin way lol” with another adding, “what the fuck? did he become derek zoolander character for real?”

Some of the reactions have even questioned whether the image is AI. “Apparently, this is actually real, not AI slop as claimed in the replies,” said one user in response to such claims. Clearly, Hill is looking to disappear into his Cut Off role, shredding the Superbad persona to carve out something refreshingly funny for himself.

Alongside Cut Off, Jonah Hill will continue to demonstrate his affinity behind the camera with the upcoming Outcome, starring John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves. Outcome follows “a damaged Hollywood star who must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past,” with co-star Roy Wood Jr. heaping praise on the Bill & Ted star’s return to comedy…

“I spoke with Jonah Hill, who’s directing and starring in Outcome, and I know they were still finishing up, just a couple of tweaks on the edit. I feel like it should be this year. I’m not going to speak out of turn, because I don’t want to get in trouble with Apple. [Chuckles] But I can say that it is an extremely funny film, but to see Keanu Reeves, I don’t think he does one karate punch in the whole film. Yeah, proper comedic Keanu Reeves is back. I can’t say too much about my character, other than imagine if Deion Sanders was a civil rights lawyer. Whatever you envision, that’s who I am in Outcome, which is totally different for me in Love, Brooklyn.”
